table select better suited, you have 1 villian over 50BBs, you might aswell be playing 5nl deepstacked otherwise

So I'm at about 58% FFTCB and I thought I was calling too much, but you say I should actually be calling 8% more.
I understand that Belgo is giving generic advice (and it looks solid to me) but because of some other threads that others have started I want to address a more specific point when it comes to asking for percentages (this seemed as good of a place to do it as any): You must tread very, very carefully when you look at someone else's specific stat and think that it's a goal for you to achieve the same number. Here's why:

Different styles
You and the person you compare yourself to may not have the same starting hands criteria. To use the extreme to drive home the point: If I play 100% of my hands and you play 1% of your hands, you can obviously not look at how often I fold to c-bets and assume you should have the same number. And that's regardless of whether or not I'm a winning player. The differences in "good" values are not going to be as extreme as this, but, like I said, it makes the point clearly.

Different opponents
Even someone who has an identical preflop strategy to mine, but plays at Stars 50NL and not at Party 200NL (or even the same site but not at the same time of day, etc.) will STILL probably be misled by trying to emulate a certain statistic of mine since it's a function of my opponents' ranges. I may be up against opponents who double barrel virtually every hand, and yours may only c-bet their monsters. The difference between player pools is going to change the optimum value of a certain play.

In short, what you should be looking for is which hands to fold when, not "how often" you should fold in general because that answer on its own makes little sense without context. Though, in fairness, "which hands" is also a question that's much more cumbersome to answer. What you can do, if you're feeling industrious, is to run filters in HEM for calling flop c-bets, and sort on "flop hand values." That, sadly, is going to be a little bit incorrect as well but it's a good start. If you're losing money (more money than the preflop investment, that is) calling c-bets with middle pair, for instance, then you'd theoretically do better by just auto-folding middle pair whenever someone c-bets. In practise, you should perhaps instead try to differentiate between different opponents and fold versus some of them and call versus some of them.

Sometimes, poker feels overwhelmingly difficult to me.

i looked at my hem data. my flop fold vs cbet% at FR is 43%. but that's really related a lot to my preflop strategy and if you don't choose the same spots i do to flat call, it could be completely off.

Meh, at least you didn't just flat the flop. You already know this but against a fish you ideally want 3 streets of value. Lots of people have this notion where they check the turn back (just as you did) to induce a large bet or a shove from them, but if he has an ace he's never folding anyway, so just get your money in while it's good and bet the turn/call shove, or bet turn/shove river.

Feyman said "If you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't understand quantum mechanics". Sometimes poker feels a bit that way too... :)
