Oh lol - I was watching you and didn't realize it. I played in it too (never again!!). When it got down to about 4 tables I went to watch a guy I had played with. You beat his 33 with 58 - he flopped trips and you hit 2 pair - then both ended up with FH's. Yours was bigger lol.

Still watching - just didn't know that was you. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your support and railing!

I took fourth (missed switch's target by one spot, i'm so embarassed  - AK<AQ kinda crippled me) for $879. This was only my fifth MTT final table online, so I'm actually pretty happy about it - and I haven't really played MTT's since February.

Since it took over 15 hours for me to bust out in fourth, that was probably my last deep stack MTT for an $11 buyin ($58/hr)...

But thanks again everyone, I was going to fall asleep at the keyboard without your support.

Great job!! It is not the deep stack that was so bad - it was the 30 minute blind levels. That is just insane and I will never play one of those again.

They have some good double stacks with 10 minute blind levels - try some of those.

BTW, there's an interesting article in this month 2p2 magazine about deep stack tournament structures:

Are Deep Stacks Good for Poker Tournaments?
by Matt Savage

Matt Savage is the world’s most recognized Tournament Director and has been involved with almost 400 televised events including the world series of poker, World Poker Tour, and many others. Matt is a founder of the Tournament Directors Association, the first inductee into the Poker Managers Hall of Fame, and actor in the movie Lucky You

He is afraid of running into me at a tournament table so I think he avoids them. :p

That is a good article and describes that tournament last night perfectly lol.

i don't enjoy MTTs. I played a couple of sunday warmups earlier this year, but i don't really find it that much fun. And I really prefer being able to play exactly the time i want to play and not have to play until the tournament ends.

Well, i did play 6 turbo SNGs yesterday night and it was ok, i can do that for the 40 minutes i took to get them over with, but it's not really interesting where you're used to playing 100bb+ deep.

The thing is, I see playing large field MTTs essentially as gambling. You might be gambling with favorable odds because you're better than average, but it's still primarily gambling as you'll never reach the long term. And I'm not a gambler.
