You're sitting at a cash game and this one player keeps beating you continuously, no matter what you have and no matter what he's holding. He has called your raises every time and beat your prime hands with any junk cards.
What should you do?

Leave the table? Stay out of his way? Or keep trying to get your money back from him?

Since this is a cash table I would leave that table and find another one or if there isn't another one available (presuming this is a live cash game in some smaller casino) I would call it a day.

Reason is simple. First, I came there to enjoy playing poker and since he is beating me every time, that cannot be enjoyable. Second, he is "destroying" my daily bankroll and I have to avoid those situations in the end to be profitable.

I play a lot of cash ring games and have done for many years and have seen this situation over and over - it never hurts to leave a table and fight another day.

MTT wise - Keep to solid, principled play and play the table and not the player, we have all seen this before, the maniac or the ultra aggressive player, 9/10 they will burn themselves out, there is always a bigger fish - its often the player(s) after the maniac that will cause you the most damage.
I will pick a spot and then attack - there is no rush early into a tourney but as the blinds increase and you find yourself forced to make decisions then it becomes a different conversation altogether.
Stick to your play and your style, regardless of the other player, we can all think of a player at CC who plays like this and thats fine, i respect that but thats their game, we all should all play ours...

Stay out of his way for the most part, while watching him. Wait for a good hand to set him up and use his aggression against him. At least that is what I would try to do.

I've seen some truly monstrous hands played against players in cash games who, for some reason, singled me out as the target. Remember: good players are dealt two cards too. They may play those cards a little more efficiently than you, but it's a complex problem: they fold, call, and raise better, but they don't see right through you. Don't expect to be reraised every time you have nothing and folded when you have the nuts. Don't panic ahead of time. Calm down: your opponent is also a human being with only two cards. Don't go crazy. You just need to take a break from poker for a while and come back with a fresh mind.

I would take a break. It’s no fun getting crushed by random cards each or it. Maybe play again the following day. Sometimes it’s just not your day. Come back again and hope for a better run later.

I would try to stay focused and concentrated untill luck turns because this person is going to lose to me in the long run with his -ev plays. Knowing that is all what counts and it's important to not go on tilt and only lose the minimum when luck is not on our side

But if luck does never turn and i'm down a few buy-ins, i would quit at some point.

I would just stop raising in front of him and try to catch him out later.

Even waiting for a good hand will not help since he beats you no matter what you are holding

The best thing to do is to leave the table since luck will be playing a bigger part on his game, so as to save for the next day. If you constantly try your best with your skill you will lose since luck will not be on your side

I would leave the table and cut my losses. Sometimes you just know that it's just not your day.

Oh he will lose to someone, but not necessarily you.

That's been my experience with these kind of situations. Whenever I kept playing, this player would just leech his stack to other players who ran better.

There's no right answer to this, unless you suspect collusion in which case it is obvious that you should be leaving and/or reporting the players involved.

Walk away! If the Poker Gods are not on your side there is nothing you can do, Chasing your losses only makes your losses Bigger, and the Hole you are in only gets Deeper!
Time to walk away and come back another day!
I always take two sums of money with me when I go to a Casino or Race meeting, One for spending money, Food and Drinks etc, and another for the Thrill of gambling, And when it's gone, It's Gone!
I find that way I am never in too deep and can walk away without it hurting me any more than it already has.

The answer is simple. You are done for the day. Go home and rest. That is the +EV solution.

Depends on my state of mind. It's hard not to let that kind of thing get under your skin. But, if I'm well rested and still in a good mood, I'd want to analyze why he keeps winning. Can I learn from this experience and improve my game, or is it all just a wash? Do I have some sort of tell? A leak maybe? Is there cheating or colluding going on? More likely than not, cuz I see this ALL the time, he's just having a run of unbelievably good luck. I had one of those myself back in '99. But, I have a terrible record for compounding losses so I finally decide to save what little I have left my hard earned cash and move on to a different activity.

Checkers anyone?

If you have no edge at this day stand up and go.
All other leads to heavy tilt and let you make bad decisions.

Focus on the game and wait for the ideal moment to apply your skills more assertively, since you have already identified the player's profile. Now, if you realize that it is not your day, the best thing to do is leave the table and come back another day.

I would leave the table for sure.
Sometimes it's not your day and IMO it would be stupid to try to get back your losses for 2 reasons :
First of all, it's not fun to always lose against the same lucky player whatever the cards you are dealt, and if there is no fun => Stop playing
And second, trying to force to inverse the bad luck never works from my experience : You lose your A game in addition to your chips.
So I would leave the table and go riding my bicycle heading to the ocean.

in this situation we seem halfway going full tilt, so better leave the table for now.. I lost good money back ion the day not doing so.
Sure sometimes it works , you get even and even take all of his chips but most of the time it will end up in frustration and no chips left

Although I have never played cash games, in this situation I would definitely get up from the table.

One of the pillars of being a good player is knowing that sometimes you are not having a good day to play, and trying to get what you lost will certainly lead you to bankruptcy.

The worst thing in poker is when you are only losing and try to reverse the situation, you are already nervous and psychologically shaken, this tilt will inevitably lead you to lose the rest of your money to the villain next to you who is certainly having his day of glory.
