But you are all over poker news bro

And I hopefully will be again tomorrow! I made the 4.5 hour drive up to Shakopee, MN, and I'll be entering Day 1b of the MSPT $1,100 main event at Canterbury Park. Was planning to come check out the casino tonight just to get a feel for where the poker tournament will actually happen inside the building, but I was too tired and just wanted to crash. Watched a couple poker vids, chilled, etc. Now getting ready to crash and hopefully wake up at a decent hour to work out. Worst case scenario is I sleep until like 1pm, grab food, shower, and just head over lol.

The bad news is that I kind of have to run deep or the trip is a pretty big waste. They apparently don't allow big-bet poker games here - it's a state thing. So all the poker games are limit, and I don't figure I'd be a big winner at say, 10/20 LHE. Though I guess I could hop into a low stakes O8 or try to find some sort of mixed game. Got my hotel for 2 nights, so I'm definitely not skipping out early if I bust two bullets before the end of level 3. :)

Ship all your run good over here, boys!

Good job shipping the run goodz, guys!

All in all I had another phenomenal Day 1. I bagged 317k, which puts me in another top 5 chip stack situation. 93 made Day 2 out of 470 total entries, and 45 spots will be paid at least a mincash of $2,272.

Day 2 blinds will start at 1.5k/3k/500a. I feel awesome, but drained, so I'm gonna go pass out, but you can go check out my progress on Pokernews. I had a hand from the first level posted, and I also apparently topped the leaderboard for Day 1b chip stack specifically.

I feel good about returning to the final table based on my chip stack and how soft the field has seemed so far. Keep sending the run good though! :D

Good luck Matt.

Thanks!

Oh, and for lawlz - Christian Pham is on my day 2 table. Now-famous for having entered the wrong event at the wsop and then winning a bracelet - in a game he had never played before!

He's actually a pro though, so I don't mean to disparage the guy, but I kind of want to immediately needle him at the table. He has > $500k in live tournament earnings so I kind of assume he's not a schmuck, and he only has 55k in chips coming back to day 2. Also he's three seats to my right. :)

Wasn't meant to be. Yet another deep run, 19th out of 470 entries. It's getting frustrated getting so close and not getting that final table (or at least past the two table bubble pay jump).

I also felt like I played awesome with the big stack early in the day, and aside from a few key lucky spots I didn't get a whole lot in the way of big hands to make value with, which can be tough. Only got a big pair once all day, and had AK twice. One time it folded around, the other was my bustout hand lol.

Thanks for all your support guys! It's awesome coming back to this thread and seeing the kind words. Love you all. :) Next time I'll make better use of the run good. :D

Watched some of the final table stream and I have to say LOL at some of the play!!! Guy checks down flopped quads!! So many mistakes from poor stack management to just plain bad play.

Nice run man. It's really tough to even go as deep as you did. Well done.

Are you talking about the one from the Dells? I didn't think the Canterbury Park one was up. I watched the entire Dells final table and it honestly made me so frustrated - if I had just held in one key hand leading to the final few tables, I would have made the final table most likely. And the play was just awful on the final table.

Thanks Bean. Yeah it always tough, though I was basically chip leader for all of day 1, and a big part of day 2.

Ohhhhhh gotcha. I looked at it for < 1 min. The hand I looked at, the guy who busted me had KK (hand he busted me with), and the commentators were literally talking about how he had KK twice, QQ once, and AA once lol. I rage-shut it down.

Not televised, but live streamed on Twitch and the MSPT website. Also I haven't final tabled it since April, but I got down to the final 3 tables in back to back tournaments.

Ah, ok i see. Nice, nice. Good job running deep in the tournaments back to back.

Big things are coming your way man. stick to it and youll get to the pot of gold sooner or later.

Also, wouldnt mind watching the table you were in. Is there any link to the stream. I mean, can i watch it somewhere now that its finished?

Yep, you can watch the final table I was on here: http://msptpoker.com/pages/EventDetails.aspx?EventID=121

Just click the blue link. I was in seat 10. It kind of sucks because they had technical issues with the commentary and it only lasts for like 30 minutes or so. I think it was the first time they ever streamed it on Twitch, so they had a lot of problems with it.

But they still have the full video, and left the table mic on, and there's at least SOME banter and stuff. :)

Also, on a similar note, I'm looking to play a lot more tournaments in 2016, and the MSPT is going to be my main avenue for that (plus the WSOP). I've got a tentative schedule lined up for myself:

Not sure yet whether I'm playing the one at the Venetian, but there'll hopefully be a decent number of tourneys I'm gonna enter there. I'll probably fire a package on the WSOP, but for the MSPT I'm planning to continue just buying myself in. It seems a little daunting when it's all laid out like this in advance for the year, but in reality they are so soft it feels criminal not to just buy myself in.
