Small stakes is to improve your game without risking a lot of money. Always move up if your skill and bankroll permit. The higher the stakes the better the game, the lower the stakes the loser the game. You will get called more by marginal hands I think.

If you have a limited bankroll, you can get many more hands in at the smallest tables, so that is a plus...more hands, more experience. However, the downside, as mentioned in other posts is that the level of poker is quite poor, and you will find more chasers with nothing...and sometimes they hit at the worst times for you.

I think it's worth it to multi-table these micro games and work on your game in a real money environment. If you can double your roll to where you're at $50, it would then be safe to move to .02/.04 or .02/.05 imo. Play some micro tourneys (.11, .25 or freerolls) too to help build your roll with a chance at a big score

Playing 1-2c can be boring or drive you crazy by watching some of the very loose decisions of your foes . But if the bankroll does not allow it , you have to keep on playing this level until you have enough money to level up . Or else deposit again sth more and try your luck , if you feel confident for your poker skill , not sth I would recommend though , try to have some patience .

low-balance tournaments are for training, if you think you can advance, play cash game tables, mtt has 2.50, 3.00 tournaments that are great for profit

I don't think you have the right to tell anyone what money is easy to replace or not. To some people yes $26 is nothing but to others thats a decent chunk of change. If op wants to consider that a bankroll he absolutely can. Also technically a bankroll is the amount of money you have available to use for poker, if thats 25 or 2500 its whatever you determine, so you are both out of line and incorrect here. And finally, whatever money you won is not meaningless, he started at $25 and is at $26.5, yeah its not a ton but he something he worked for and earned, I don't see anyone saying your bankroll is worthless and meaningless. Lets be a bit more considerate to the newer players instead of bashing them

Agreed.

And, many people actually enjoy the challenge of trying to build a bankroll up from a very small one (or even from nothing at all). Many don't want to deposit again after doing so once.

OP, Personally I think you should work on 'forgetting about the money' & instead work on 'improving your game'. If you work on getting better, the money will look after itself.

playing 1-2

it is really difficult for experienced players to play 1/2 cent stake, however some times you have to start all over again fo leveling up in bankroll management but remember its really difficult to play at this level due to loose payers who tend to play each hand of poker who doesn't:stupido: know the value of starting hand and who goes all-in with each type of hand

Hi,

I need some feedback on whether there is actually any point playing these such small stake games if I am trying to make money off poker.

I deposited $25 and i've only played a few couple of hour sessions and my bankroll is at $26.50. Should I not just try the next highest because I find it really boring at the amount of money I'm winning.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

My advice to play satellite and micro tournaments <= $1.1

There's a lot satellite for 16 players with 4 tables with 4 players. And than ft with 4 players with top 2 tickets. Easy to get ticket if win first table with 4 players.

If you want to increase your bankroll then playing 1-2 cents games is not the option.

Depends on what you think your time is worth in money. If you play only for fun and it is quality time, ofc go for it. If you play to gain money that would probably not be the best idea :)

It is all about what you wanna reach.

Hi all!

I congratulate you for making a profit, that is the most important thing if your goal is to generate money. It's a good start now try to keep it long term. If your game is a winner, with patience, I suppose you can accommodate yourself to the levels you like.

:ah4::kh4: play with love :D

I think that smaller stake tables are underrated because the payouts are small if you don't finish in the top spots. However playing in these tournaments ca help you to increase your knowledge and skill of the game.

All practice is good practice and rewarding. I came 3rd the other night in a pokerstars School free-roll and won $15.00, ok it was tourney dollars but it is 15 free buy-ins to my usual $1.00 Bounty hunter games I don't like playing cash games because you cannot use the TDs in them and I find them boring.
I much prefer to play sit and go'es especially when the Blinds are super deep.

It is worth it if you play at several tables and have little money in your box!

due to the lack of bankroll and low level of play, you will very quickly go broke due to variance if you increase your poker limit. your money is barely enough to play 1-2 cents cash table. in order to raise the limit, you need a solid, reliable bankroll. There is no easy money in poker and all the money is hard to get.

It's a pity to waste time. At these rates, you will get discouraged from playing. The minimum is NL5 or NL10, never NL2.

If you can't beat 0.01/0.02 over a large sample of say 100,000 hands so you have an idea of if you're ok, you'll be crushed when you move up.

You have a very small bankroll so don't be surprised if you go broke.

Hi burkey55, hope you are having a good day.

If you're serious about this and you are trying to turn that 25 bucks into something much bigger then NO, don't move higher until you have the required bankroll and you have BEATEN the stake you are playing at the moment.

First of all, 26.50, that gives you 13.25 buy ins for 2NL and its not enough, you shoud have 20 buy ins minimum ( some consider it an Aggressive BR approach). You can buy in for 1.25 dollars for 2NL, it'll give you 20 buy ins. Bankroll management is important because there is a thing called variance, you need a bankroll that can withstand the normal fluctuations in poker.

There is no easy climb up the ladder. Not in life and certainly not in poker. You are finding the 2NL easy? then great, keep at it and build the money ti'll you have atleast 20 buy ins for 5NL and same goes for 10NL..etc. ( Even though some might recomment to have a much bigger bankroll for each higher stake).

Poker is a marathon, not a sprint..its a long term endeavour. You got to have patience and discipline.

One last thing: BUY A HUD.

your giza pyramid and lightspeed synchronicities are correct...and most remarkable...there is no such thing as a coincidence...especially not to 8 significant figures.

i have interested myself in the pyramids...and other ancient objects for many years...and never found this connection...tytytytyvm.

the great pyramids, and the sphinx of course, as i am sure you agree, are much older than accepted theories insist on....and were certainly never used as tombs...though i feel the sphinx is younger...10500bc maybe..??

I spent years wandering around asia looking for answers to the questions that interest(ed) me,,,visiting big and small 'religious' sites. hampi...angkor...bagan..for example...all are related to the stars in some way or other...' and they shall make heaven on earth '.

The pyramids in my mind were some kind of energy generators.

I would very much enjoy talking with you deeper in this and related themes.
