New day. Lets get back the game face on!!

Want thoughts on this hand. Instead of value betting 3 streets I went for the check raise overbet line. I'm trying making some adjustments with betting patterns cause everyday shit doesn't seem to work that effectively at stars.

@Alu do me a favor and visit pokerstars 5NL reg 6max tables, I wonder if you still find them 'reg infested no fish' playing ground.

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 7h 7d
fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, BTN calls 3 BB, fold, fold

I like it a lot against correct player. We can't do that every time though, because board is wet and there are enough hands villain to call, so we need to pick the correct opponent. Villain's mistake imo was underbet turn, that made giving up too hard for him.

Well it worked for you this time!?, rank bad play by the villain imo. He had no business calling the check raise with 2nd pair let alone call the river. Clearly just a non believing CS.
If I had been the button here and was drawing I would have just checked back the turn behind you to take the free card with a smile.
Unimproved maybe I'd called up to half pot rivers.

But it's a pretty wet dynamic board by checking the turn here you risk giving a free card which could hurt. He could have a lot of draws here, I think on this particular board I'd prefer to just bet the turn and charge him.
I know its obvious but you can't charge draws on the river so are potentially losing value on this CR line.
He shouldn't really be calling the river so big without a pretty decent made hand.

I don't see any problems with you mixing it up a bit, it's a bit fancy but we shouldn't be doing the same thing all the time. I'd just make a note on that player that you used the CR as a value line against him so next time just keep value betting him or use the CR line as a bluff

Clearly just a non believing CS.

This. & noted it down
But I'm seeing it a lot tbh.
But down some blinds today still. Went up 3 buyins & quickly went down 3+.
Need more patience.

@Brave, will do when I get the time. Today I was feeling like making some money but sadly this happened & some shit came up. Will do a session later.

You must have had a read here on the turn. If you knew V would bet then I like it, but I think we should bet the turn most of the time here.

77 just chuck some barrels in here man, typically overbetting is effective against capped ranges, this spot is kinda the nut worst board to try it on since the villain is uncapped (at least on the flop and a little bit on the turn anyway). there is no reason we can just got like 75/78% pot on every street, our only options arent half pot triple and wackadoodle x/r

got an interesting spot. My tracker hasn't recorded it so here goes.

Hero opens with KK on CO & BTN 3bets. We 4bet big. BTN flats.

Flop - A Qh 7h (we don't have a heart)

So considering the hands that would flat the 4bet here, I just check folded. Thoughts?

Hello alucard, im not a pro or something but my play would be like this:

I would re-raise the river bet, because only things that beat you are stronger sets which are unlikely here as I think QQ and AA would 3bet pre even when he is oop. Jacks might however just flat but I dont think they would flat very often. A straight also seems unlike here, I think he is either valuebetting set of deuces or he hit his second pair on the river.

EDIT: I also think he would not check the nuts on the river very often. I think you are huge favorite to have the best hand.

I might be also utterly wrong. Anybody more experienced than me?

Hey thanks for the interest & welcome to the thread! :)
One thing I forgot to mention, that the V is marked as a fish. When V raises it's never a good spot. We'll hear others thoughts

Why is a straight unlikely? They could be overplaying KT. In any case, they must definitely have something. Their river raise seems to scream "I don't want to lose value on my good hand!" So they at least have two pair and possibly even better. The Q on the river probably improved their hand significantly.

Yes that's what I thought, the Q improved him but how much? I dont know... hard to say... but as I said I think it's unlikely he would check the nuts on the river.

Maybe. Unless you know that you are up against an aggressive bettor. How likely is it for them to expect that Alucard would place a bet for them on the river? A check-raise is not out of the question IMO.

What's with when you get kings there's always an ace on the flop??
I had at least 7 times today where I got kings & there's an ace on the flop or a turn.
And most of them were 3bet or 4 bet pots. insane!!

Yeah I feel that, that happens to me very often, sometimes it seems like its always... its just important to not go crazy and be prepared to fold those kings.

Fish have bet size tells. I wish you left the results out so I could know for sure if I'm right or not.

We have Ks. I am raising flop, calling turn. Fold river. You have one pair, and V clearly improved on the turn. I thought he had a flush, but yeah, he just got there another way.

That's what I think anyways. Well played, but I fold river.

Bet bigger on the turn. We are targeting someone with a hand here. If they have nothing, they fold. If they have something they call whatever, it's $5 NL.

As played, I just call river. We beat alot, and you guys are extremely deep. We could click it back, and if he 4b us then I feel we would have to fold because he hit a gutter to the nuts. I might do that actually.

He goes 30 BB, we to like 65 or 75 BB, and if he hauls it it's so gross but I think he only does that with nuts, maybe I'm wrong.

I probably just call his 30 BB C/R though cause I'm scurred he has the nuts.

I.think I wouldn't resist and shoved too, but it definitely was a bad shove I think because you already had two people in front of you commited so much they probably had a hand :/

And hey,do you enjoy playing so deep stacked? I usually sitout when I have more than 200bb and return back with 100. Just to avoid situations like this.

no it wasn't IMO. You need to study ranges more. The shove was worth it considering their positions + the equity my hand has & the price I'm getting.
I do not play scared money. Today I went down around $25 before getting my shit back together & making the session a $5+ one before this shit happened. Now at around a -$10. :(
