You're on party so you will probably encounter him again, any adjustment's in mind?

Yeah very unexpected. Will make a note on it. Can't do much adjustments there tbh. I would play it the same way the next time too. Can't put him on a 4 there.

10NL is very weird. Everybody loves playing for stacks.

My 10NL run yesterday. Made some 3-4 stack play mistakes. Other than that some were unfortunate coolers. Will definitely go back soon.
The funny thing is I ended around slightly in profit due to rakeback + profits at 5NL.

Well just went down 3 buyins in the evening session. Need to grind it up.
All the luck seems to have turned against me lol.
Not sure of the $100 day now. Will be happy if I could get around $60.
Will be playing a $22 tourney today as well.

You will notice as you go up the stakes this will happen more and more.
If you think of NLHE in terms of pure gto then really stacks should be going in nearly every hand either for max value or as a max leverage bluff.
The first few betting rounds are where you glean the information to decide if your range is stronger or not and act accordingly.

Why arent you playing 25NL? It sounds like you are competent enough especially if you are shipping 6+ buy-ins a session.

Ditto..

Hey Alucard,
I'm just a lurker who's been playing poker recreationally the last 5 years. After joining the forum, I opened an account on bovada and have been playing 25NL. Started at 10NL with a 100 deposit. Jumped to 25NL after reaching $300 and now I'm up to $1000. (Approximately 20k hands, playing 2 tables 15 hours a week for the past 4months)
I have learned a lot from this forum by basically reading all of you guy's hand histories which has improved my game. My game definitely needs improvement but I'm pretty sure you can beat 25NL. I don't mean to hijack the thread but just wanted to share my thoughts. Keep up all the great work and most of all your INPUT!

Thanks man! Well have very little experience at 10NL & the last run was a hell hole. Hopefully I'll evolve when I go there. GL!!

One step at a time ;)
Still I'm a 5NLer & the next step would be 10NL.
Even if I go 25NL right now, the bet sizes aren't familiar with me & I'm not rolled enough so would be playing scared money.
Even at 10NL I'm feeling something similar & had the same feeling when I moved to 5NL from 2NL.
And I'd like to beat the zoom pool as well.

Hey welcome & thanks man!! Appreciate it!!
Yeah maybe I could but once again my issues are that I'm not familiar with the bet amounts & not being rolled properly. Will get there but I need to move step by step & not jump over one.
GL to you as well! Feel free to post your thoughts too on those hands.

Ok so I'm thinking of going back to the zoom pool for a couple of days so I could be rolled enough to play the winter series. There are some attractive couple of tournament there.

Will keep on grinding at party though.

The first few betting rounds are where you glean the information to decide if your range is stronger or not and act accordingly.

I believe its actually the opposite, GTO contains a lot more slow playing to deincentivises attacking of capped ranges by punishing overbluffing, so almost x ranges have a dec chunk of strong hands that even out the ranges on most runouts, but that might just be a misintepretation from me.

Just me, but I dabbled in Party 10NL last month, and I've played enough 10NL on Stars enough to echo your thoughts. Time of day really matters on both sites in terms of the types of players you see, I always found that early evening Europe was the best time for me to not run into regs as often as I did when I played around now, but I also found that because the player pool is so much smaller on Party, the time of day mattered less b/c you were running into the same players constantly. In one two hour session on Party I think I have info well above 100 hands for some players which I'm no where close on Stars.

Just a small piece of advice: don't be so concerned with winning 4 buy-ins at a time. You don't want to get aggro when you shouldn't be b/c you're at 3 1/2 buy-ins up, and you're looking to be done soon and make decisions that aren't optimal. When I play I set a session goal but I usually have a time or hand limit that I work to as a hard stop. I never want to get to a point where my sessions are dictated by how much I'm up or down and I'm pretty sure you're not like that but if you define your session goal as such, just proceed with caution.

I'm guessing you opted into that My PP Live to get the one $22 ticket - how did you get the other? I'm sitting with T$22 right now because of a technicality in registering for a tournament and I'm looking for a good value to play - do you have any suggestions? One $22, two $11, or break it up further than that.

Lastly, the Winter Series does look tasty - what level are you looking to play? Micro or low and which events??

somehow I got 2 tickets & I don't know how. lol :D

I played the $22 contender when I cashed the first one. Was placed around 70th I think out of 800+ players. It's not easy & takes a lot of time. I was thinking of playing those small 1k,2k GTD ones but then changed my mind to play the contender warm up 10k tourney. The pool would be lower I guess around 500 players.
If you have T$ I'd say play 2 $11 ones so the variance would lower. Your choice.

Yeah at party even at the busiest hours player pool is mostly under 200 as I remember.
Stars sucks. I'm even getting suspicious about their rng lol.
the crappy zoom run continues at it''s becoming less & less attractive to me.

At the winter series will likely be playing $5 to $11 ones. Will likely play a satty to qualify. If I can turn back this shitty run somehow it'd be much easier.

I'm down 5 buy ins at zoom today ffs!
Need to somehow get it back up. Now I'm at the point where I'm becoming almost break even at 5NL zoom.

Maybe it wasn't the best time to get on the tables. Will try the rush hours.
