I have played both live and online and I think online is tougher to get through to the final table. In live play I tend to see more cautious play than online. My guess is that, in live mtts, fewer players want to gamble a bit by making an aggressive play with a mediocre hand. Plays like this usually create some emotion that some players aren't sure they can hide at a live table. Essentially, poker faces aren't required on line. Having one in live play takes practice that a lot of folks just don't get like they do on line.
