I never play music to focus, I play music so I DON'T focus too much. I play much better when I'm not paying close attention to the game. LOL Yes I know that is very weird and doesn't make good common sense... but it is true. I often notice that my deepest tournament runs come when I'm watching a sports game such as football on the television... I believe the reason is because I'm not getting bored at the poker table, so I don't make stupid plays like bluffs that don't work... instead I tend to play even tighter when I'm not paying close attention, and for my game, "tight is right". Doesn't mean it is correct for other players, but for me, I have realized that distractions can actually have a positive effect on my results.
