You couldn't be 100% sure, that's poker. I think part of the issue here is that minraise you made. AQ is a huge hand HU, but you still needed to raise more since you were facing an unknown opponent. Since you'd never played him before, don't have a read on him yet, and have little info to go on at this point, I think...How was I to know that he wasn't just trying to intimidate me into laying down my 2 pair?
^^^^^^^^^this is your answer. Two pairs is huge heads up, especially with an A kicker. But without info, you have to initially give the benefit of the doubt.Easy. When he comes back at you with that reraise on the flop, you lay it down. He`s telling you he had the 4, plain as if he hung out a sign.
