Are You the Best Sports Bettor at CardsChat? (Leaderboard)

Not sure how much traction this thread will get (If any) but only one way to find out

I thought it could be fun to see who some of the top sports bettors in the forum are (Is it you?) and wanted to see if any of you would be interested in keeping a leaderboard for sportsbetting. (Would be kept in this thread.)

What we would keep track of is both records and units won. (Not money won)

The rules:

- No post betting, all bets must be posted ITT before the start of the game. Or in your own betting thread (Link your thread ITT)
-Keep bets/post in the proper formatting (see below)
-No live betting, Unfortunately it would be too difficult to verify live bets.
-After a match is complete you must come back and post which of your picks won. Otherwise they will be counted as losses. (This saves me time as I don't have to go through every match to see the results of your bet)
-Parlays must be within one sport, no mixing sports
-Cashouts/Surrenders are not considered. Only your original bet posted is taken.




Please make your posts in this formatting to make the thread easy to read and keep track of.
Formatting:

Sport
(Date)The Bet, Risk (in units), to win (in units)

Example:

NFL:
(Nov 4th) DAL -6.5, Risk - 1.10 units, to win 1 unit
(Nov 3rd) BAL SU, Risk - 1 unit, to win 1.55 units

Then after your bet has completed quote your bet

NFL:
(Nov 4) DAL -6.5, Risk - 1.10 units, to win 1 unit
(Nov 3) BAL SU, Risk - 1 unit, to win 1.55 units,

Dal -6.5 (Win) +1 unit
BAL SU (Win) +1.55 units

I always prefer to bet on the Premier League games, there are no surprises, but Brazilian soccer is unpredictable, sometimes weird things happen in those games, I also don't like to bet on the Spanish B series championship there are many rumors of cheating matches

Then we need more rules. for example:
1. Starting points, competition dates, number of bets per day...
2. The quality of bets, that is, only ordinars or express? Someone will put express with a factor of, for example: 100! And win the month race, and someone put during the month and showed good results and lost.
3. How many leagues and sports play? At least to only top leagues and top 10 sports at bookmakers.
And how to check the coefficients? Surrender only on trust.
In general, there are many questions. or am I too much in my mind?

Ofcourse there's too many things still uncertain about this event ...

E: leagues/sports shouldnt have any restrictions cause like you see in above posts - theres NHL game alongside some football/handball games ... And checking odds is easier if people would post screenshots of their bets like terry instead of how Tudor presented them ...

Just want to explain my thinking on this bet,,,, 1:Arizona was playing a back to back game as they played the night before playing the Washington Capitals in a shoot-out,,,a tired team they where. 2:St.Louis are the current Stanley Cup champions. 3:St.Louis had a winning streak of 7 games won in a row. It was meant more as a lifelong record to see who the most consistent are. Also a way to see how you compare to other members.

Maybe "Leaderboard" isn't the best word to describe this

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying someone could make a large bet $$$ wise compared to other members bet sizing and not be a proper representation of how one is doing?

If so this is why we use unit sizing and not cash sizing. Also, it's not meant to be as a weekly, monthly race.

As long as the bet exist it would be fine. Maybe we should exclude certain props like what a singer will be wearing during the super bowl etc..

We could include those props however. And we could keep track of everything separately.

For example my record could look like this:

NFL: 164-90 +w/e units
NBA: 450-385 +w/e units..
MMA: etc

Surrenders wouldn't be counted as wins unless the original bet ended up winning.

And if you need a light at the end of the tunnel maybe you'll show you're so good you'll be able to start selling your bets.

Since it's not a race there would be no reason to limit your bets. If anything we want to see your entire body of work

The more things listed the smoother the edges will get



ESports would be fine and as I mentioned in my other reply we can keep track of how each individual is doing in different leagues.

So you'd have a FIFA record, MMA and etc records.

It would be a great way to see where peoples strengths and weaknesses are.

And checking odds is easier if people would post screenshots of their bets like terry instead of how Tudor presented them ...

It probably would be easier with both. I'll edit the OP.

The picture to verify and the risk with to win (In units) to make it a quick look.

The bets need to be presented to me in units for the same reason cash game winnings needs to be presented in bb's won.

I believe Debi was that one who spoke something about possible upcoming betting competions etc (which probably dont arrive anytime soon) so yeah until then i guess it's indeed realistic to not take this leaderboard thing too seriously ...
