Lakers will not be ahed of the Rockets unless the Rockets get injured. Dwight played well last season, not great offensively but good on defense. A 4 yr max contract isn't too bad. I dont know when he will start to really decline but he's still got 2-3 years of wortb being a max guy and if he can stay healthy. Big guys don't comback from injuries as well but Dwight is an athlethic guy so its different. If Houston can use him well, which means not a lot of straight post ups, then they will be very dangerous with their core guys. I still think they will trade Osik and Lin to get another guy that will improve their team. Lakers r in trouble unless Kobe comes back strong and has a season like he had last year.

Whats the bet? Lol

Houston signed both Asik and Lin to poison-pill contracts - their salaries will jump to $15 million each in 2014. So it will be hard for Houston to trade them.

The rockets are a major step up from the Lakers

Made me chuckle.

If you put a poll up of writers, sportscasters, fans, players, I am pretty sure very few would agree with that statement. They have won 2 championships TOTAL in their history, the last one being 18 years ago. They have only won 4 division titles in history. They didn't even have a better record than the Lakers last year in a terrible year for LA (they had same record)

Now, they have been doing a nice job improving the last year or so, but it is pretty laughable imo to say the Rockets are a major step up from a perennial Championship Team such as the Lakers (who still have arguably the best player in basketball) with 17 Championships (32 Conference Titles) including back to back (three times) and back to back to back (twice) NBA wins :)

They have as many back to back NBA Championship numbers (4) then the total number of Rocket division wins...
