I personally like him to stay in L.A. But Houston seems like a bright opportunity, What are some of your thoughts?

I'm a Lakers fan, and I would not be sad to see him leave. I agree with jcla that he is not worth the max contract. He's far too occupied with extracurricular stuff to work on his game and improve.

Where is the best place for Dwight Howard to go?

Whatever team wants a distraction from an overpaid baby that will cause them any chance at a Championship or even a very far run in the playoffs.

2009 will be his peak where he got to the NBA Finals and lost in 5 games.

17.1 Points and 12.4 Rebounds per game are his worst stats since 2006, his 2nd year in the league

i hope he retires. i'm tired of these super teams being built in pro sports, it ruins the game for me.

I would like him to stay in LA but 5 years max money is too much. Best opportunity is Houston and Houston can add Josh Smith so I think thats what its gonna end up happening.

Harden made the best decision of his life when he left Oklahoma and joined Houston. He just exploded there.
Yeah Howard could do fine with Lin and Harden.

I personally thought Andrew Bynum was better all around. Dwight doesn't have enough moves and isn't motivated to win championships at all. I think Hibbert and Brook Lopez are better centers right now. Josh Smith should go to the Lakers!

Hibbert is, Lopez is definitely not. If you only look at offense, then maybe yes but Lopez isn't a great defender and a poor rebounder. Marc Gasol is probably 2nd.

Funny how he was pretty bad for his own standards last year and was still arguably the best center. No matter what people say, he is still very valuable as the league is extremely thin at the center position (In fact the league has shifted towards small ball and now PFs often play C) . I still think Dwight is unquestionably a top 5 center behind maybe Noah, Gasol, Hibbert (who is also very limited offensively, the only reason he did well against Miami was because they were playing small ball and he was the only legit center), and maybe Horford ?(who is a natural PF anyways). Don't get me wrong I think Dwight has a lot of annoying antics but he can still play ball when all is said and done.

Watch this scouting video:

Sure looks like he half-assed it last year. He's had 8 years to develop a post-move and shoot free throws better, and he hasn't. His priorities lie elsewhere, no matter how much he says he wants to win a championship. He has an opt-out after three years. He's probably gonna pull the same crap on Houston as he did on the Lakers in two years.

in my opinion should go to houston I think that fits much more equipment for position players plus many more humble than LA.

I expect a lot more out of Howard on the Rockets, I think mentally he never bought in to the Lakers team last year and as a result of the injury as well as not caring he didn't play as well as he did in Orlando. I've heard a lot about his injuries possibly signaling the end of his effectiveness, but I just don't see it, he is still one of the top centers in the league. The rockets are a major step up from the Lakers, as well as any team that Dwight ever played with in Orlando. Their offense will be much more effective, the combination of James Harden, Chandler Parsons, and Dwight will be very effective. Dwight's arrival will really make Chandler Parsons better, I can't imagine how many open shots he will get.

Defense will also be greatly improved with Dwight, last year Dwight didn't play as well on Defense but he was also playing with a group of players that had a cumulative athleticism of a sloth. The athleticism in the Houston will allow for better wing defense as well as stopping other teams from just out running them in transition which is what happened last year.

Overall I think the Rockets are going to be a contender for sure, and I like their chances. They are definitely on the short list of teams that could win a championship next year.

Hahahahahahahahaha are you serious? I mean yes he is half talented but he is over rated and over paid. And younreally think they are contenders? I will bet the lakers finish ahead of them.

Lakers will not be ahed of the Rockets unless the Rockets get injured. Dwight played well last season, not great offensively but good on defense. A 4 yr max contract isn't too bad. I dont know when he will start to really decline but he's still got 2-3 years of wortb being a max guy and if he can stay healthy. Big guys don't comback from injuries as well but Dwight is an athlethic guy so its different. If Houston can use him well, which means not a lot of straight post ups, then they will be very dangerous with their core guys. I still think they will trade Osik and Lin to get another guy that will improve their team. Lakers r in trouble unless Kobe comes back strong and has a season like he had last year.

He's always talking about wanting to win a championship. Let's see if he puts his money where his mouth is in Houston and gives it his all without any drama.
