So wow - very surprised to hear this. What do you think they will do with him?

They won't do much w/ him. He's the 3rd best QB on their team atm. He might be playing more on special teams then anywhere else.

He'll prob have the same role as he did on the Jets.

He'll bring more media attention & distraction to the team than anything else.

I don't know why Tebow didn't land somewhere else, but the Patriots figure they'd rather take him off the table before they wind up facing him in any situation (NE is actually this pompous and calculating). I know how ludicrous that sounds, but as much as anything else the Patriots will use Tebow as a team motivator. Personally, it makes me sick, considering the fact that in NFL terms New England is the equivalent of the Dark Side of the Force.

Actually I expect they will use him as a TE, since their all pro, Rob Gronkowski, is ailing with a back that will require surgery - not to mention his 4 operations on a broken left forearm.

New England already has a capable backup QB in Ryan Mallett (like Brady, also from the Univ of Michigan), so Tebow is not likely to see action as a QB - unless he figures out his footwork and throwing motion to be become an NFL-caliber passer.

And Belichick is not about to let Tebow-mania affect his team. That circus will not be welcome in Boston.

NE fear any other team? Nah, of course not. But you can sense their dynasty really coming to an end. Other teams are having a ball getting up for the Patriot games, they wanna whoop that ass. Is Ryan Mallett the next Tom Brady? Maybe not. I'm telling you right now, there is a lot of untapped talent in Tebow. If NE grooms him into a superstar, the rest of the NFL will have major egg on its face. So I'll give props to the Pats, shrewd move.

Basically from what is being told by this he will just ride the bench all year and maybe and i mean maybe get to play a little bit. He will learn under Brady and also the coach ( whos names i forgot ) who drafted him in Denver is with New England now and i guess this is why this happened. But i wish him luck and hopefully it turns around for him

Here's an interview and an article on this topic:\
http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/9362801/tim-tebow-signs-new-england-patriots

Honestly I don't see why its becoming such a big deal if Tim Tebow was coming into New England to replace Brady at QB or to replace Ryan at 2nd QB then yes, I would say its a huge deal but New England is just adding depth to their Roster which is needed at the QB position. I'm a Steelers fan and the Steelers needed to use their 3rd string QB last year so 3rd strings are needed...

I think Tim Tebow is like a Justin Bieber some one everyone has to talk about and you have your fanatics and your haters but love him or hate him people just can't stop talking about him..

As a Broncos fan, I happily jumped on the Tebow bandwagon a couple years ago when he came out of nowhere and let them to the playoffs and beat the Steelers. I understand Tebow is not a statistically good quarterback or a good quarterback in any sense, but he sure was a hell of a lot of fun to watch, especially late in the those games. I was briefly upset when Elway was so deadset on trading away Tebow right after that great debut season, but got over it real quick when I found out they were picking up Manning.

Anyways, I don't think the Jets ever gave Tebow a chance to prove himself and I don't think the Pats will either with Brady at qb. He will be there if they need him however and with Belichick's brilliant football mind hopefully he will be involved in some exciting gadget plays this coming season.

Teach him how to throw!

LOL, but seriously, he will spend many years learning. He's talented, that's for sure, but he has a lot of improving to do. I read an article that pointed out that the Patriots are one of the few teams bigger than Tim Tebow. I agree with that. You won't see Tebow play for some time.

I'm from New England as well. I don't think Bill will use him in a lot of "trick" plays (that doesn't seem like Belichick's/Patriots style...), but Bill will get very creative with him, I hope. Tebow might be listed as the 3rd string QB but Belichick will find uses for him. Maybe as a fullbuck in some strange formation, maybe in some sort of a dual-shotgun formation where Tebow has a threat to run, block, or pass. Who knows...

One thing is for sure though: Belichick was the guy that got Julian Edelman to succeed as a running back, he got Troy Brown to succeed as a temporary-cornerback, he will definitely get the most out of Tim Tebow.

...if he makes the team, that is.

I dont know how they will use him, i think its more or less him using them for a paycheck. He seems to be bad luck for a team. But he does have his moments of luck to get him his recognition.
