Is it time yet?????

It has been soooo long since January. I am ready for some football damn it!

I think I will start researching for my fantasy teams soon so I can feel like it is almost time lol.

Anyone got any NFL news to share?

I'm excited to see how the saints perform without their head coach.

Big discussion on ESPN a couple weeks ago about how if the saints play great and make the playoffs without Payton, how responsible are coaches for teams wins?

Regardless of the Saints though, I'm stoked!!!

Im a huge Bears fan and man the NFC north seems up for grabs matter of fact the entire NFC seems like a race between 6 teams i have no idea who makes it to the super bowl from the NFC side. AFC i hate to say cause i hate the PATS but i dont think anyone can hang with them this year. Brandon Lloyd and Tom brady is gonna be nasty...

You know what poker play i like that Houstoun if everyone stays healthy this year can be unstoppable. well last year if the bears stay healthy we make the playoffs and lions are left looking in again LMAO. yeah lloyd is sick a bit older but still a sick player. I think he will have a huge year this year.... Thats why i look to get him for a steal around the 5thround in my fantasy league. shoot some say he might go as far as the 7rh.

Well, lookie at you! One live game and she's still the football maniac. lol Is this your first fantasy try? If you have any questions, fire away. Entering my 4th season as commish of 2 leagues. BBB is still in one of them at Yahoo. In 6 or 7 leagues this year, a new record. hehehe
Guess what, you'll never believe it. Phil 'OMGClayAiken' Galfond just signed up at NFL.com and asked his 1st question. I looked at his handle and was like I know that guy, whi IS that. Then I googled him and looked at his profile. Vancouver, yup yup. Read my post...

You are behind hehe. I have been to several games now and have watched 2 ful seasons. I played in 3 leagues last year and won one of them. :)

Will probably play in about 3-4 this year. Will repeat the CC league, my brother's Yahoo league and 1 or 2 others.

Gosh, I have been fairly scarce, ain't I? I had a huge success my very 1st year in 2009. Was in 4 leagues. Finished 1st in 2, 2nd in the 3rd, and 3rd in the last. Since then, never better than a 4th place finish. :( But have learned a ton along the way trying to help others at the NFL forums. And now my competition is a lot tougher, as these are forum guys that are pretty active.
Glad Julio Jones has panned out for you as hoped. Now w/the Aints pretty compromised and not much noticable improvement in the Bucs, your only competition is probably the Panthers. Good luck in your drafts and season!

Not sure if you heard that two of the top RB's in the league recently, finally signed long term deals that should make drafting them a little less iffy - Ray Rice, possibly the most valuable RB, and Matt Forte, who was one of the best last year before getting injured.

I guess the #2 pick in the draft this year, Robert Griffin III, just signed a four year deal, but there are a ton of QB's that should do well before I'd pick him up - of course, he could be another Cam Newton, who came out of no where to have a monster fantasy season last year.

Ima thinking of setting up my league this year. Had a year hiatus. Had lots of fun playing DB and ckr's leagues but I think I want to call the shots agian in mine. I like the high scoring games.
I also have first pick in DB's league. Tim Tebow FTW!

I'm a raiders fan....which was ok cause the division was so soft(raiders actually set an nfl record I believe 2 yrs ago first team in history in nfl to win all it's division games and still not make the playoffs)....now with manning qb of broncos...well looks like it could be a rough few years. Only good thing about Manning going to Broncos a good friends brother was drafted by them (Brock Osweiler)...lol I know it has nothing to do with me but pretty friggin cool knowing someone learning qb position from manning.

New Refs

The NFL is currently using Referees from college football. There is a lockout currently and they say the earliest the NFL may even get their Pro Ref's into the game is Week 3. Now that is being skeptical.
Just wondering how you think this may fare up when it comes down to stats for fantasy league games?
Thinking there are going to be more clock runoffs going into all quarters and the end of games as these ref's do not have the speed to get the ball to the line in time. The pro ref's always have a certain time limit, but they also perform quicker if they notice a team is in a hurry up.

I'd be very surprised if this had any impact on fantasy football statistics. Even if it did have a minor effect, you'd have a hard time quantifying it, and you certainly couldn't use it to your advantage in choosing a team.

Should have no noticeable effect at all. It would be one thing if they were using high school or youth tackle refs, but the difference between a college ref(likely to be some of the more experienced of those) and a pro ref isn't very different. There are some different rules, but that will not be a hard change to remember.

I'm excited to see how Carson Palmer does since he's had a full offseason to practice with the Raiders. I also hope Mcfadden can stay healthy all season. Maybe this year my Raiders will break into the playoffs.
