Hi all

Worst gambling experience for me was when i 20 years old.

Used to put £5 or £10 on Football coupons every weekend from the age of 18.

This one occasion i had won just over $750 went to collect my winnings got talking to someone i knew in betting shop and decided to a go on a roulette machine.

I proceeded to put the full £750 into the machine plus £120 from my wallet and after that £350 from my bank card my one day atm withdrawl limit and lost it all.

I fell so sick afterward and put of by the hole event that I have never been in a betting shop since.

Since then i mainly play poker and betting online where i have daily, weekly and Mothly deposit limits so i couldn't do it again which i havent since and dont belive i will that was 12 years ago.

So Just Remmember Everyone When The Fun Stops STOP!

While I do like to make sports bets every so often, I would never mix my poker and sport betting funds. Different account for different sites for me.

You are not the first day in poker and it is strange to bet all the money on 1 bet.

Betting is risky, especially since the current games are so unpredictable, so my opinion is that it was a rash act, the desire to recoup faster played a role. But there are no people who lost more. Don't be upset, start over and don't keep this failure in your head about what happened.

I only bet sports or casino games with free bets.

There is a reason they can afford to build multi billion dollar casinos.

The greatest deception of mankind

However, what ever you play or how "good" you think you are playing...you CAN`T win! Look at this 2 "players"...i dont know how i should name this 2 losers, but they win against me as BIG Favorite... it´s unbelivable! The only one how ist winning every day, is the platform you play on. They still making millions over millions and we just paying for hope to win "NEXT TIME".

They play the last sh*t and win...pff! You can´t beat this kind of stupidness. It´s impossible in poker. And after winning hands like this, they belive "i´m a so good player. i played this so well"... it´s just disgusting and heavy expensive trying to beat this kind of stupidity

In the end of the day: All you need is luck! And than they tell you "yea, but you win this in the long term"...that helps nothing NOW because the money is gone NOW and how many hands i should play, to come in the exact same spot? Impossible. It´s all about luck. Nothing more. No skills needed. Look just at the picture for evidence...

Ya ya, next time i win. Sure, it´s always "next time" and never NOW...

Whatever you are playing, AA, KK, QQ, AK...you will lose.

Unbenannt

After suffering two months of downswing at PokerStars, playing every day of the week, I decided to bet the rest I had on a single football match.
But despite being very stressed, I still made a point of researching the match in question, which was for the time I'm rooting for...

But the result was not good and I lost everything on a bet that wasn't worth all that risk, ODDS of 1.44 if I had been right.

The total value was $215 which may seem like little more than it was actually a considerable amount for anyone playing in tournaments with a maximum of $2.20!

Has anyone here on the forum ever done a bigger thing than that?

read the first 25 posts so I know this has been said but I will repeat it to help it sink in ;)
bankroll MANAGEMENT :p
of course we have all done something like this, that's why we can give this advice with confidence.
learn as part of your poker training not to tilt. (helps in life too)
do NOT keep playing when tilted.
and Bankroll management is very important in poker and the concepts
should be applied to all things in life. just my opinion
moderation in all things ❤️
So poker isnt gambling right? There you also basically risk with money though ...

Dont tell me what to do. If i want then i can put entire bankroll on one bet
Cause how it was - high risk high reward or what :dontknow:
But then again in any sort of gambling (casino/poker/betting) it is probably never wrong to follow mindset "love to win but can afford to lose" ...
poker is gambling but the thing that keeps us all coming back is that anyone can win.

no one told you what to do and I suspect no one has ever been able to. :giggle:
it is perfectly fine to bet or lose any amount that you can afford to lose.

when you have a bad time at poker, just take a break, don't try to recover the sums lost in poker, neither in betting nor in slots or anything else... the chances of increasing the loss are very high because of this type of emotions

Hi.
You definitely did something stupid and paid for it. Although it is an unpleasant experience, it is an experience nonetheless. Learn from your mistakes, and then you have a real chance to become better.

I have never bet all my money on one match or one tournament. For me, proper bankroll management is the basis of a successful game.

You should always Play for fun whether it's Slot's, Roulette, blackjack, Poker or Sports Betting, I never gamble with money I am afraid to lose (scared money). When I go to a Racetrack or Casino I will take enough money for Travel, Food and drink expenses, and a separate amount of cash in another Pocket I call "Mad Money" This I am willing to throw away as to me it is dead already.
If I should lose all of it on my Day/Night out then that is fine, I have had a bit of Fun and still have a Taxi fare to go home with. If I started to chase my losses with the Money I reserved for Food and Travel then I know I am headed for trouble, I used to do this in my single days losing more than I expected and had walked of hitched a ride home, which is no fun in a Thunder Storm.
Gambling Responsibly is nothing new and there is no secret to it, You just have to be aware of what you can afford lose. I once went to Haydock for the racing and when I was returning to a course bookie to retrieve my winnings I met a friend of my Daughter's and it seems she bet on the same Horse I had when she asked me how much I had Won, I told her £100 as the horse won at 5/1 I had £20 on the bet "Oh no" she said "I couldn't possibly risk that much on a Horse" I told her it didn't matter as it was out of my Mad Money pocket and explained my system to her She was amazed at how much I had been willing to lose on the Day.
It really is unimportant what figure that was, as I felt it was a reasonable amount to gamble with and possibly lose, but that one win doubled my Mad money on one single bet. To some people £100 is a lot of money, but to someone else it's "Peanuts" It all depends on how long it would take you to earn that money if you had to work for it, and if you can afford to burn it.
Basically it is all about Control! If you are in Control of how much you are willing to lose Then you can relax, and have more confidence in your actions, If you lose that Control then bad things start to happen.

When the Fun Stops, STOP!

I'm not a betting fan at all. Even when they offer me to do it for free, I just ignore it.

My biggest single bet loss was at a poker table. My probability of winning was not big, BUT, I had a chance at a Royal Flush - so one out on the river would do it. Villain pushed all in and I called with my last $200. Two thoughts were in my mind - 1. I've never had a Royal Flush. 2. Catching the Royal Flush could create a Bad Beat and the jackpot at the casino was over $150,000. The table supported my theory that this could happen - if I caught the Js. My share of the bad beat would have been decent, along with winning a $400+ pot.
