I don't think there is a problem. He is just trying to answer any questions you might have. I can as well. Sports betting in a way is a lot like poker. One game at a time. Never bet with more than 2% of your bankroll on any event.

Example - if I have $200 then 2% = $4.00
if I have $2000 then 2% = $40.00

You have to weather the variance with good bankroll management. One game or boxing match should not break you. Bet within your means!

Broadly speaking there's no reason you can't be good at both - they're just very different skills. Being good at one doesn't make you good at the other necessarily.

I think you need a similar temperament to be successful at both (able to stay calm and level headed, analyse things dispassionately, not being afraid to pull the trigger in +EV spots, good at managing your money, etc). But just having that temperament isn't enough.
