England in Australia 2010-11

1st Test Drawn after an epic 517-1 declared for England in the 2nd innings

2nd Test England won by an innings & 71 runs - Pietersen 227 (more than he's scored all year combined (maybe lol)) and Swann cleaning up with 5 wickets.

The only downside is we have lost Broad with and abdominal tear, but win the next Test and we cant lose the series, or the Ashes :)

Wow! Good to know that there are other cricket fans here. England is doing great, my prediction before this series started was 3-0 England, with my boy Swann.

I'm an indian living in the US, fefinitely rooting for KP and the boys. Go England! Now only if india start playing...

Had to lol at Pietersen today, he was batting and didn't like his bat, he changed it and guess what, he went out first ball with his substitute bat for a total of 3 runs.....lol.
Now that the top 3 are gone it looks likely that the Aussies will level the series
Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi.

Dang that Mike Hussey
He played a great innings for his 116 today, but don't forget Mitchell Johnstons 1st innings 62 off of 93 balls, with the bat and 5 wickets for 78 from 17.3 overs which got the Aussies into a great position to set up a good lead in their 2nd innings.

MATCH SCORES

3RD TEST - AUSTRALIA v ENGLAND

DAY THREE - Stumps

V

Australia 1st Innings: 268 All Out.
England 1st Innings: 187 All Out.

Australia 2nd Innings: 309 All Out.
England 2nd Innings: 5/81 need 310 runs to win.

As a general rule, do cricket fans like baseball? This question probably exhibits my lack of knowledge of cricket. Though, I was under the impression that the sports had similarities.

Wow Mitchell Johnson what a comeback, i like watching him bowl so good for him. 1st test dropped then man of the match in the 2nd test of an ashes series, he really is clutch.

Eagle, in my case, I havent watched baseball as a kid so I'm not a fan. But i've heard my friends talk about baseball and the nature of their discussions are very similar to mine and my cricket friends', so yea I can see myself getting interested in the sport. There's always that inherent rivalry between the two though... :)

Muahahahahahahahahaha,
Aussies spank the English to even the series, this one is going all the way to the 5th test. :D :D :D :santaclau

Bring on Boxing Day at the MCG.

They do, they both use a bat and ball and are both scored with runs. :p

One major difference is that when there is a world series, there is more than just one country competing in cricket. ;)

Ive follwed Baseball for around 8 years now and love it - followed cricket for 3 years and love it.

The 2 games on the surface are different but i believe are quite similar in many aspects, especially with all the stats available for both.

Managed to see the Little Master (Sachin Tendulkar of course) make his 50th Test Century today, a massive achievement and a record that could well stand for quite a while with next closest being Ponting (39) and Kallis (38) both approaching their later years.

Sachin's 50th century!!!! What a treat to watch, I wasn't able to watch it live but saw the highlights. Cricinfo had a bunch of articles as always on sachin and his reaching another landmark... One I really enjoyed was the slideshow of his 50 centuries, good stuff:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/gallery/485141.html

Nice info on Tendulkar's International career there!
I'm old enough to remember when he first came onto the Test cricket scene, when he was just a 17 year old.Knew then, he was going to be something special. ;)

It's always nice to have a good day against the convicts
and in the history of the ashes there can't have been many
more one sided days
at least on Englands side at least

Come on England, grind them into the dust :D

Cricket and baseball

As to the question do cricket fans like baseball?

I love cricket and I cant stand baseball, or maybe I'm
being unfair as I dont really understand it but from the
little bits I have seen there is nothing to make me want to
learn any more

Now if you want a sport I really really cant stand, I think it
is the most over-rated boring sport ever

and I know a lot of Americans are gonna go mad

is Basketball, it is just from one end to the other, so repetitive
I am amazed the whole crowd dont fall asleep, so to me it is
the worst game ever, sorry basketball fans:D

ps I'm sorry, there is a more boring sport
synchronised swimming :D

How many?
I can't believe that!
Could Zorba please confirm this?:)
** Zorba sneaks in quietly**
Yes it's true. There was a lot of movement of the ball off the pitch early in the day, and England made the most of it with a great decision to field after winning the toss, then they bowled really well.

I'm glad I only made 2 small bets with UK CCers, but with 4 days left of this test, and then the Sydney test to come it may still go anyones way, such is cricket.

England 444-5 at the close of day 2 and a lead of 346 :)

Ponting losing it and fined 40% of his match fee for arguing :D

What a great couple of days of test cricket. Amazing stuff, not just the Ashes test but the SA vs India ongoing series too. I love lively pitches and pitches that reward the bowlers, good break from 300+ and 400+ scores all the time.
