On the other hand, I read that Artista asked the board to hire Belgian midfielder, Youri Tielemans, today in Leicester. Although his contract ends on June 30, they say that the coach wants to have him as soon as possible.

What do you think of this possible signing?

Resounding defeat for Arsenal, the substitute team was not up to the standard and we fell 3-1 against a difficult rival.

Good morning.Despiste the fact,Arsenal played with an alternative line-up, the team played well but Brighton is playing a high level football this season and deserved the victory.Mitoma was superb yesterday. Excellent young winger.

Yeah, a lot of fans were somewhat conflicted over this.

It was Arsenal's fourth priority after the PL, the EL and the FA Cup. The Carabou Cup is okay at this stage but later you need to play home and away and at that point it would have been a nightmare of fixtures for Arsenal to deal with, with a relatively small first team squad. I personally do not like writing the cup off but...

The thing is we could have won but nobody had their heart totally in it. We were supposed to be good for the first 45 minutes but then tailed off, and ultimately I think it is good to see who is not really performing regarding the second tier players.

Unfortunately Arsenal need to concentrate their resources in better places. Man City can afford to go after this trophy with their squad size, we can't this year with the World Cup on top of everything else.

Trust me Arsenal are being linked with a number of players and Tielemans is one of them. I don't believe much of what I hear - Arteta himself divulges very little regarding transfer targets so I count most of this reporting as gossip.

Tielemans is a great player and would be excellent as a free transfer next summer. As a January transfer with only a few months on his contract it becomes a somewhat tricky purchase regarding the fee. It would show Arteta and Edu firmly believe Tielemans is target... but I am not sure that is the case.

Regarding players that have generated a lot of press/gossip regarding a move to Arsenal, Danilo the 21 year old Brazilian who plays for Palmeiras is one. Another is Mykhaylo Mudryk, 21 year old the Ukrainian winger who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk (when asked he said he could not refuse Arsenal). There are reports today that Arsenal have offered Euros 52 million for him but I am not sure I believe it as it sounds too low. Mudryk would be great as we could then rotate Gabriel Martinelli into the center, where he has played before. Also. I mentioned Jonathan David above who I think would be great fit for the Premier League

However, to be frank, I'll believe any of this only when the player is shown at the Emirates actually signing a contract...otherwise most of it is just a daydream...so lets dream...

Mitoma is an absolute gem.

Endless energy, hustle and creativity. He spent his first year after signing for Brighton on loan but then returned to the PL this season. Graham Potter seemed a little hesitant to play him but I believe De Zerbi has recognized his talent and is going to give him a serious role. I think he is going to be a breakout star and I joked he could be Brighton's version of Gabriel Jesus.

Great win.

I thought the game had 0-0 written all over it. Wolves had their new manager in the stands and the players wanted to impress. I am sure many players were wary about getting injured before the World Cup. Then I thought the fact that Man City had lost and Arsenal knew they would top the division might take the edge off the game.

But no - the team stayed patient and then two well worked goals culminating with Odegaard scoring twice mean Arsenal are top for the next 6 weeks!

Great victory yesterday at the Molineux Stadium. having patience and knowing how to play the game well. With this victory we take 5 points from Manchester City and we will maintain the top of the league until the restart of the tournament.

Okay - I think this is a really interesting update regarding Mykhaylo Mudryk, the Ukrainian player who I attached a highlight clip above, concerning a potential January signing.

He just gave an interview with Alex Zinchenko's wife who happens to be a really big media figure in Ukraine (crazy connection). He admitted he actually wanted to move to the Premier League last summer and wants to move in January. Mudryk really follows Arsenal and said, what he wants is some guarantee at least he would have the chance for some first team football. He actually said if it was a choice to be on Real Madrid's bench (yes many are interested in buying him) or first team with Arsenal, his choice would be Arsenal. So this is way more than gossip at this point.

I would really love it to happen as he seems the precisely the type of player we need to supplement the attack. If we could sign Mudryk in attack and Danilo for midfield I would be over the frickin' moon. Plus we them should have Emile Smith-Rowe back from injury in the new year and last season and he was our second highest scorer.

We'll have to wait and see....but let's have this on our Christmas wish list!

It would be great if Mudryk signed for Arsenal, hopefully it can happen. We will have to wait until January to see what happens, but it would give him several tools in attacking arteta.

Well, unfortunately ( could see this happening) a director from Shakhtar Donetsk yesterday gave an interview where he set a price tag on Mudryk of approximately Euros 100 millions. So I doubt Mudryk will be moving anywhere in the January window, even Real Madrid, as that places him in one of the world's most expensive players territory.

Anyone wanting to pay even close to that will only do so at the end of season knowing they have secured Champions League football with the subsequent boost in income. Mudryk said he was disappointed (quote 'shocked') at the price tag, but understood the clubs position.

On the positive side, Emile Smith-Rowe who underwent tricky surgery just a few months ago is now fit and fighting and will be travelling and training with the Arsenal squad in Dubai etc - he has been working out in the gym and is looking strong. That will be a real boost and it means if no one gets seriously injured in the World Cup, Arsenal will return to Premier League football at the end of December with a full squad, and hopefully a couple of new players such as Danilo from Palmeiras etc.

100 million? It is clear that nobody will stop that in this market. It's a shame but if he maintains that position we will have to wait for the next market to see if Arsenal can get Mudryk's services

Some commentators are saying that Arsenal might be able to swing a deal is they say offered Euros 60 million with incentives and add ons if Mudryk performs as well as expected, but I am not confident even that will work out.

For instance, Danilo from Palmeiras is expected to cost around 25 to 30 million and he is also felt to have huge potential. Of course he did not get a showcase in the Champions League this season...but the point is Arsenal could pick up two players (even three) showing serious potential for one Mudryk...but we'll see.

The other thing that Arsenal have to be sensible about is their ambition. Start of the season it was a Champions league place, top four. Because they have done so well, now the temptation is to push for everything. But, next season we will have two players who have come all the way from the youth academy, now out on loan who will almost certainly start playing for the first team.

One is Charlie Patino, 19, who is now on loan at Blackpool and such a good midfielder Barcelona and others have scouted him (he's half Spanish). The other is Folarin Balogun, 21, a striker currently on loan to Reims who has scored 8 goals already this season and already played for England and the USA (he has three nationalities -UK, US and Nigerian). They will provide cover where we need it, but of course not yet.

It's a balancing act and we will have to see what the club and owners want to do in January!

Today the team plays again after the World Cup. How do you think the result will be vs West Ham?

Well, a bit of a lethargic first half (kind of expected) but then Arteta rallied the team and after Saka scored you just felt Arsenal would take control.

Great to see goals from Saka, Martinelli and then Nketiah, who of course now has to play a vital role after Gabriel Jesus' injury. The issue isn't the goal scoring for Arsenal (goals have come from defenders, midfielders as well as attackers this season) and Arsenal have the second best goal difference (+24) after Man City (+26)...but it's the defending from the front that Gabriel Jesus gives Arsenal and their pressing game.

So, I kind of liked Arsenal going a goal down and then having to fight back - they haven't dropped a point at home so far this season.

The January transfer window is about to open and its is going to be exciting to see what moves Arsenal make!

Then finally, I love the fact that Newcastle are at least temporarily into second..with a resurgent Arsenal on top and now Newcastle joining the fray for Champions League places, I think the top four is going to look very different this season and that is great for the Premier League!

Now...not to say this is a done deal (as I genuinely think it still up in the air), but, Mykhyalo Mudryk posted a shot of himself watching the Arsenal game against West Ham on his ipad to his Instagram page - he obviously wants to move to Arsenal so badly.

Apart from Arsene Wenger watching the game tonight Stan and Josh Kroenke (owners) were reportedly at The Emirates to watch the game. That bodes really well for the transfer season. Edu and Mikel Arteta had already met with the Kroekes in LA before the World Cup regarding potential transfers so it is good to see the owners in town just before the window opens - it should be a signal they are ready to back Arteta with signings.

Good morning. It was a really nice comeback by Arsenal in yesterday's match. After West Ham scored,I thought for some minutes that the game could get complicated.Fortunately,I was wrong .It was very Important that the team scored before the end of the first half. Then,Arsenal dominated the match.Odegaard was the key of this victory. He is a fantastic midfielder

I have been following the English soccer league for several years... and Arsenal has been one of my favorite teams... I remember when they were champions with players like the Frenchman Thiery Henry and the Dutchman Denis Bercamp among other great players.
