American football vs European football

So what do you preferred watching American HandEgg or European Football ;o)

Personally I find both things fun

On a Sunday evening / Night with the boys we tend to do more out of American Football - Its just for us to support the same team

I'm 49ers fan so that will be in 20 years we gonna win SuperBowl

for me unambiguously European soccer. now seldom I play, but I look regularly. soon the FIFA World Cup and this most rating event in the world.
I watched some moments of the American soccer on the Internet, I not really understand rules. but I think this sport could to me it will be pleasant, it has good dynamics.

I tried to watch american football, but that is too boring for me. I see action lasts for 10 seconds and after than for 4-10 minutes nothing happens. Referees running with a table, the crowd eating happily, the players walking here and there....i couldnt watch it. After a half an hour I gave up.
But I do like Rugby, that sport is full of action.

The best is soccer of course. After they finally allow the video referee, this sport will be strong again.

Don't they use foot as well ?

As most of the European I'm more familiar with soccer, but I envy US sports system since High School to professionnal world as concern American Football and Basket for example..

Those are globally two schools :
- war spirit for gentlemen
- team spirit for former street kids

I think it is called football, but only free kick use feet.
mostly they use "body"

soccer only allowed goal keeper use hand in the box.
but most of the players allowed to use feet and head

well, I think the big difference is

American football is round... means one team offense one team defense , then exchange.

but ... Soccer is... depends...there is no break time if ball lost control.

but I think American football is more fun to play and watch
soccer is more fun to play through video games... easy to control.

It's honestly just what part of the world you're in. I grew up in Texas, played american football my whole life, soccer wasn't even an option after I turned 10. That being said, I enjoy them both.

fan of both. I like the continuous action of Europe football and the scoring and high impact plays of American football. BPL is probably my favorite due to the natural grass fields, engaged fans and competitive matches.

I like more European football, I do not know if it's better than the American because I never played it, and because it's a culture of my country Brazil I always liked European football. In recent years has been very passionate about this type of sport European football and the players are getting better.

Soccer is equivalent to armchair basketball,,,one you can`t use your legs and feet,the other you can`t use your hands and arms.I like sports where you use all your limbs.:dontknow: (But soccer played at the highest level is a beautiful thing to watch)

Like many Americans of my era, I grew up on American football, and didn't even learn the rules of what we call soccer, let alone play it, as a youth. Fortunately for me, I was introduced to European football in my twenties, and really enjoyed playing it, as well as watching European leagues and World Cup games. So I am someone that has played, and watched, a lot of both games.

They're completely different, but given that I transitioned from never missing a Redskin game, to hardly ever watching American football at all, I have to say I prefer the European variety.


European football is more fun to play, because you can play more, maybe even the entire game, and the action rarely stops. American football is more specialized, even starting players are in the action for less than half of the game, and the action stops to reset the ball, and plan the next play.


As far as watching the games, American football is a clear winner, that is if you enjoy commercial advertising... Even at live games, you sit around waiting between plays for the action to resume. Whereas European football is continuous flow of action that doesn't stop much until halftime, or the end of the game (90mins of action in 2hrs vs 60mins in 3hrs).


Bottom line for this one time Redskin fanatic is European football is the clear winner, which is probably why it's popular all around the world; and American style is found only in the US and canada.
