Well that was a crazy press conference! Conor 30 minutes late then Nate walks off with his Stockton pals talking smack to Conor and then throwing bottles and cans at eachother!

Any chance that was fake and the UFC have Diaz on strings??

Nate wasnt provoked by a question or something Conor said or anything, just got up and left. And then a sh*t talking and bottle throwing all looked kinda cliché to me. Either way it's got people more hyped for this Saturday so I guess all in all it was a successful presser for the UFC lol

They both get a cut of the PPV so anything they can do to get those numbers up.

I reckon the walk out was pre planned by Nick and Nate and their mates. But nobody could have predicted the way it escalated.

The whole episode is probably worth a million each to the fighters in terms of the extra PPV interest it generates. Delighted for them both in that regard.

Conor was seriously rattled and wound up. Mission accomplished for Nate.

Hope nobody was injured though.

LOL the latest Embedded episode is up, and it has Diaz walking out of the press conference but completely omits the bottle throwing...

Elsewhere, during the melee, this happened:

Ido Portal, unlikely hero of the day! :D :D :D

Coz lets face it, if it did kick off he wouldn't be much use to anyone unless there was a dance off maybe.

Big fan of the Diaz Brothers, but I don't know what was more cringeworthy, Nate walking like a poser with his gang or Nick with the investigative journalism.

And you'll keep giving him your money and time!! Your donations are appreciated.

Conor bless you.
If crybaby conner wasn't fighting a diaz brother, i wouldnt even care about his fights. like no one knew who he was before he started talking trash.
dude was fighting all the midget jabrones and nobody cared and he wasn't getting paid bank.
i guess congrats to him for gaming the marks...but i won't be ordering ppv's or "giving him my time and money" in the future.

and in case you want to make some more personal assaults on people i will give you some ammo.

Wow! Incredible fight! I never imagined it would go 5! It's not often that a fight lives up to that kind of hype.

Got robbed? Conner won round 1 and 4. Nate won 3 and 5. Round 2 could have gone either way. Not sure how any unbiased observer could say giving the decision to either man was right or wrong. It was close and I actually like the 2nd judge's draw score.

Remember, I am the guy who bet on Nate last night before you start saying anything about me being biased.

Awesome fight. Decision was fine as only round 2 could have gone either way, though Diaz only picked up steam at the end of the round. If Diaz lands a takedown in rounds 2 thru 4 he most likely finishes him.

Anyone else catch McGregor's comment about wanting the 3rd fight to be at 155 pounds? About the only good thing that would come out of that for Diaz is the huge paycheck..

Close fight. I guess we will be seeing the 3rd match at 155 lbs. Some things that stick out for me.

Conor was gassing in round 2.

Conor did allot of running.

Nate gassed also.

Both were understandably tired by the end of the 5th.

Conor was landing some nice leg kicks and Rogan pointed them out but when Nate answered back with some nice ones himself nothing was mentioned.

Conor is delusional.... The King is back .. lol yeah right. He just got that win by the skin of his teeth.

I am going to have to watch this fight again. More specifically the 2nd round. Nate gets dropped twice but not in much danger but later in the round had Conor in trouble.

I scored it a draw or win for Nate ( might change opinion after 2nd viewing ) .

I don't think we will be seeing Conor back at 145 lbs.

That was a damn good fight.

Conor did a good job surviving the 3rd round and defending the takedowns.

I have a feeling the Diaz Brothers would be UFC champions if they fought a little bit smarter, winning rounds and having/following a strategy.

I also have to watch the fight again cause I had Diaz winning the last 3 rounds, but everyone is saying Conor got the 4th.

I don't think Nate is upset that there will be a 3rd fight, so everybody win$.

The 2nd round is the round I am most interested in re-watching. Sure Diaz got dropped a couple times but sometimes people forget knockdowns aren't scored the same in MMA as they are in boxing.

Agreed about the 2nd being the deciding round. So close. To me Conner won the 1st half and Nate got the 2nd half of that round. It was too close for me to call at the time.

Does anyone else think at least one of those knockdowns was actually purposeful, as in Diaz was trying to bait McGregor into going to the ground? One of them looked really weird/intentional to me.

I haven't watched again but I didn't think so last night. Could be though?

I think it might have looked a little different because of his (Diaz) leg was in pain from the kicks he was taking. I don't believe Diaz try'd to bait him.

Good point. At that time of the fight Diaz was on anything but a solid foundation.

I'm not sure a lot changes at 155 - Nate goes back to fighting at his usual weight class, Conor fights at what is probably his "natrual" weight, Nate still has height and reach and we probably get another great fun fight.

Conor is delusional.... The King is back .. lol yeah right. He just got that win by the skin of his teeth.

I don't think we will be seeing Conor back at 145 lbs.

I suppose it depends what way he meant that - if it's in the cage dominating other fighters then no. It's possible that's what he was trying to say, though on the whole I thought he was pretty humble and respectful after the fight. Other people's mileage may vary though.

If he meant "King" as in the UFC's biggest draw and money earner though (which is kind of how I took it - again, mileage may vary), then I think it's fair to say it's true. He just put on an instant candidate for fight of the year, he's got a trilogy match sure to do megabucks with Diaz in his pocket, and that almost certainly won't even be his next fight. He's negotiating from a position of strength with the company, he's still far and away their biggest star and box office draw, and he just got the biggest payday in the company's history coming off a loss.

As for whether we ever see him again at 145 yeah I'm skeptical too. I believe we'll see it if he thinks that a fight at 145 will make him more money than any other fight available to him at the time... but he doesn't seem to think that would be the case.

If I were the UFC I'd book him against Alvarez next for the 155 belt, but that's just me.

Does anybody have a link of the fight? I just cannot find it anywhere.

Solid result.

I had an ugly betting card, got the easy one (Rumble) and a small one on McGregor-Diaz being FOTN but whiffed on Randa Markos, Rick Story and Diaz.

I stand by all those bets, I'd probably make the same ones again with the same information going in, but the results weren't pretty :p
