I'd strongly recommend Hold Em Manager.

It's the best HUD for a grinder + shows very detailed statistics, keeps track of your hands.

Jivaro was OK. A little too minimalist for me.

DriveHud was honestly the only PokerHUD I downloaded and did not like.

Felt like I needed a degree in HUD-ology to set it up.

This quote that DriveHud is the cheapest keeps being quoted but it's pricing works on a completely different model. It does seem a lot cheaper initially but it all depends on the lifetime of the other products. DriveHud would cost me $59 initially, the $9.99 per year after. Admittedly this is a lot cheaper on the initial outlay and may indeed be cheaper overall but the others do not have a subscription, they are a one of fee of $100 so after 5 years it may possibly become more expensive, that is of course if you do not have to upgrade them in that time.

But this is not too bad for a 5 year outlay and within that time does not exceed the others. But I do not know if there are any guarantees that these yearly costs will not jump up. Also what happens if you go with DriveHud for two years, go with something else for a year and go back? Would you then have rebuy the whole product?

Overall it sounds like quite good value (although I have not tried it) and is initially a fair bit cheaper, I am just saying they work on slightly different pricing strategies so it is difficult to say carte blanche one is cheaper than the others.

It's cheaper for most users. If you get the pro and use it for that many years, yes after year 5 it would be $10 more, but you do get more features.

I think the one time purchase model for software is going to the way side because it thwarts development. There's constant updates and site changes that have to occur. I think the bottom line is you should support the products and companies that show up, and are committed to their customers. You'll get what you pay for in the end.

Additionally, even though it's counter producing to marketing, Drivehud breaks down the stake level into 4 categories, and you can upgrade for the difference at any time. If you stop using it, and want to go back and use it a few years later, then you just pay the renewal. There's no auto renewal on any of the products either.

The bottom line I always say is try them all. Get the one you like best, and support the companies who support their products and customers.

So I guess I'm just out of luck then? I wrote in my OP that I have already used the free trials years and years ago, so I don't think I can use the trials anymore. I tried to outline exactly what I would be using the tracker for, because of this exact reason. So that I would get responses based on my needs.

I use PT4 - however they are both probably good enough.

Cheapest up front you mean. Pt4 is $100 for all stakes and I've had it since 2013. Drivehud is $60 and $10 a year so already would cost $110. Not sure on the more built in options either its main point is it looks pretty.
I use PT4 small stakes (up to 50NL) and it cost a giant $50 - I have no need for higher stakes online in the states - can't trust anyone with that much money.

I guess we all have opinions, but I literally just got this email minutes ago:
downloading your software was easy as well as setting up the HUD on the trny I played. Much more straightforward than Poker Tracker or Holdem Manager.

As I always say, download and try them all. They all have 30 day trials.

Yeah I hear you. There are sites that are legit in the US that you can play safely - ignition, Betonline are a couple of examples.

Personally I like pt4. I dont use the HUD. but it's great for capturing hands and breaking down after/in between games. Like others have said. Both have free trials. And it's really preference- try em out.

What features do you get with drivehud that you don't get with pt4?

I play at both America's Card Room, and Ignition Casino; I wouldn't trust either of them as far as I could throw 'em.

One day...

...... I will mainly be using the Tracker on Americas Card Room. I also want to use one of these trackers for reviewing hands, my leaks, graphs, notes, and the basic use of the HUD. Main use will be for study and reviewing hands. ....

I have recently tried both trials in the last couple months. I cannot comment on the HUD comparisons as this wasn't my focus., but for the analysis portion of the software I find HoldemManager to be quite a bit better for my uses. I like being able to have multiple reports open at a time using the same or different filters. There are many valuable pre-set filters in HM2. I have not seen the equivalent functionality in Poker Tracker. Just my 2 cents. I have had very good success discovering my own personal leaks in a very short amount of time using HM2.

We appreciate the users that mentioned that they were HM3 Beta users.

HM3 has been officially released.

If you are an existing HM2 user, you may be eligible for 40% to 100% upgrade discounts if you do so before Nov 15th. You can find the details on the upgrade policy here - https://support.holdemmanager.com/s...rade-Discount-For-Customers-With-HM2-Licenses

I believe PT4 has aggression freqeuncy while HM does not. Correct me if I am wrong. I would go with PT4 because of this.

You are correct, HM2/3 use the Aggression Percentage formula instead. You can read about the differences in the 2 formulas in this thread on the PT4 forum - https://www.pokertracker.com/forums/viewtopic.php&f=58&t=57695&p=284510

We have aggression % that shows how often players actions were aggressive. We also take into account checks that PT4 skips.

If player checks twice and bets once, HM3 shows 33% vs PT4 that would show 100%.

On a bigger scale this means that HM3 values are slightly lower vs PT4 if you are comparing them directly.

Example:
AF 9.14
HM3 Agg% -> 44.8
PT4 AFq ->59.81

Neither method is incorrect. As long as you compare players in HM3 or in PT4 on their own, Stat will in both cases show you which are the more aggressive vs more passive players.

You can contact them for a trial extension and they will generally give you another trial. It may not be a whole trial, but just email them.

There's a whole comparison here w/ PT4 and HM2 (not 3).

http://pokerleakbuster.com/pokertracker-vs-holdemmanager.html

Have you tried Drivehud's trial? It's 30 days also.

Thank yo, i was looking for soemthing like this, my first hud was hadn2note but i think is less complete than HM or PT

The truth is I do not use programs, I feel that it is a way of understanding that I would always depend on help and that we will not be able to obtain in a live game, I understand that this is not always the case as long as it is possible, but I prefer not to lie to myself myself and apply all my knowledge

So what should I choose?) And did it help you somehow improve the game?

One other poster mentioned Poker CoPilot. I have just started the 30 day trial of that one. I used HM2 years ago on a PC. Now I have a Mac.
CoPilot is designed for the Mac from the ground up, not ported over. Runs very smoothly.
Lots of choices. Good luck with your choices.
I think it is improving my game, especially since the leak buster stats have shown me something important about my game.
Rather insulted that it suggested I should quit poker and give knitting a try.

Course to use a HUD?

I use HM3 but I am a little overwhelmed by all the features of the software.
Anyone can recommend a (or several) either YouTube videos/Course, free or paid, that teaches exclusively:
- How to use all the features
- How to analyze hands and databases to get find leaks on my game and improve

Thanks in advance
