I tried to convert a hand (actually more than one) for the Forum Challenge. The problem is, because I use PT4 and it takes the hand histories out of PokerStars hand folder. I tried to convert a hand by copy/pasting it from PT. That didn't work. It only says:

"There was a problem converting your hand. Please contact us with any questions."

Example hand:

PokerStars Hand #209873592977
Tournament #2821803453
MTT 5-Table SNG $0.23+$0.02
begins at 2020/03/07 6:08 am
Seat 7 (welton max) is the dealer
kingnight393 posts ante 50.00
silvalucas19 posts ante 50.00
welton max posts ante 50.00
Naforole posts ante 50.00
Naforole posts the small blind 400.00
kingnight393 posts the big blind 800.00
silvalucas19 folds
welton max folds
Naforole raises to 10958.00
kingnight393 folds
10158.00 returned to Naforole
Action has ended
Naforole wins 1800.00
Never mind my previous message. Once I exported the hand history from PT the right way I got the replayer working.

Is there a particular hand you're having trouble with? ACR saves hand histories to files on your computer. You'll need to locate the hand you want in one of those files and then copy and paste it into the converter.

Hand from 888poker are not convertible.

What is the problem?
This one should work now. Let me know if it doesn't

I apologize for not getting a screen grab, but it kept giving me the message that the hand I was trying to convert was alreayd converted. It did allow it after I ticked the boxes that said don't show the players or outcome. Is that a known bug or will it do that if someone else already converted the hand?

I don't know, but I think it shouldn't, since the HERO is different, and we are supposed to know the HERO's hole cards. If they were hidden from the original submitter, then that submission can't really represent the hand from our viewpoint.

If a hand with the same HERO and the same hand number is already submitted, I usually get the originally posted hand without any error messages, even if I try to alter the details. The only way to update that hand is to alter the hand number, increasing it by 1, for example. Then I get a different link.

To test for your problem we'll need the same hand to be submitted by 2 different players, using their own hand histories. I tried a different approach—submitted a hand once, then I switched the HERO (dealt to him pocket Aces). Both hands were accepted without problems.

Here is the original hand:

pokerstars, $1.96 + $0.24 - Hold'em No Limit - 400/800 (65 ante) - 9 players

6 players fold, skaniol (BU) folds, 1 fold, bogart3048 takes a walk

Total pot: 1,385
bogart3048 (BB) wins 1,385

Here is the altered hand:

Total pot: 1,385
bogart3048 (BB) wins 1,385

If you examine the replayer links, you'll notice that the links are very similar, but they are slightly different:
924ybX1Fh
624ybX1Fh

This is how the link changes if I add 1 to the hand number (successfully altered my stack size too):
924ybX1Fk

I could be wrong, but from my observation it looks like you've encountered a bug rather than a feature.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue - and Donna was it a 1 time issue with a specific hand? If so it would be difficult to re-produce and impossible for them to look into without your hand history.

The error message "This looks like an already converted hand" will be displayed if we detect any forum code tags on the hand history. This tells us that the hand has already been passed through a hand history converter (either Cards Chat or another). Unfortunately once a hand has been through a converter, it no longer has enough information for us to convert it to a different format.

I've gone ahead and changed the message to be more clear. It will now display the following: This looks like a hand that's already been converted to forum code

How to post PokerBros hand reviews?

Hello, I have a couple of hands from PokerBros with screenshots of the action. I was wondering the best way to convert these hands into a converter to make an easy share for others to comment on?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for explaining this. I was having this issue today and learned the following:

1) If I export my hand from Drivehud I have an option to export to cardschat. This means the data is put in my clipboard so I can paste to the cardschat hand converter. However this gives the message "Looks like this hand has already been converted"

I then exported through plain text same issue

I then read your post and it got me thinking, looked at the text that was exported and it was missing much of the info so I couldn't even understand what was happening in the hand by reading the plain text. (As I could if I looked at the raw data from hand histories had they not been converted into a database in my HUD).

I then exported with the option in Drivehud export to "3rd party Apps" And all of a sudden it worked. I could then use any of the 3 output formats in the cardschat converter powered by pokeit.

Hopefully that helps others as well. So you can see the difference here is the output if I export with drivehud to cardschat options in drivhud

Cardschat export from drivehud

Can you post the hand here, the same way you are posting it in the converter, so we can see if something is wrong with it?

Remember that the hands have to be in a raw format, straight from the logs of the poker client software, and they should be in English. Some poker trackers might be storing the hands in raw format too, but it's not guaranteed. If the hands aren't in English, you have to manually translate them in the appropriate English format. It's generally a good idea to store them in English to begin with. If you try to use an automatic translator, it's not going to work, since the hand converters are only smart enough to recognize the specific format produced by the poker clients. They can't read arbitrary English.

I couldn't place my hand because it was in the wrong format. I used a text file in English. The raw format will be tested at the first opportunity. Thanks.:five:

Thank you Tammy.

What I was looking for is to use the replayer option of the Hand Converter in a "What would you do?" or a "What does villain have?" type of scenario. I am asking if the replayer can hide the final results, such as villain's cards and winner of the hand.

Thank you and the Cards Chat team for the great tools that improves our play.

Hi,
I'm really pleased to see that the Cardschat hand converter handles so many variants.
May I suggest that you don't obscure the suits when converting Razz hands?

Yes, the suits are irrelevant, but the output is so ugly...

Hey Hand Replayer Gurus!

So yesterday I did this goofy mis-click play in the PokerStars $300 freeroll that I wanted to post in a thread but when I posted the hand from my PokerTracker hand history, I got this message from the CC Hand Replayer:

"Heads up! This looks like a hand that's already been converted to forum code."

So it looks like someone else perhaps beat me to it and has posted the hand elsewhere but why won't the Hand Replayer page give me the link that's already been created so that I can post this hand as well?

Just wondering if I'm missing something here.

Thanks for any help!

Doug

If you re-submit a hand, you'll still get the converted hand. This is a different kind of error.

You get this error when you try to convert a hand that is not in the appropriate hand format. The converter probably detects some stuff in it that looks like forum BBCode (e.g., [] tags), so it assumes that you are trying to feed the output of the converter as an input (hence the "already been converted to forum code" part). In fact, if you convert a hand successfully and then you try to convert the given output: you'll get the same error. I'd say the error message isn't very descriptive, and you can really interpret it the way you did. It would be less misleading if it was something like this:
"Hand format input error: Hand history in a raw format expected. This looks like a hand that's already been converted to forum code or another unsupported format (possibly from a hand tracking software)."

This converter normally expects the raw text of the hand history as stored by the poker clients. The poker trackers accept this raw format as input too, but for internal use they convert it to their own format. I think you are trying to convert a hand in such a format, but I don't know if the format is supported here. If you have the original hand in its raw format, you can try to convert that instead. Otherwise, see if your poker tracker can export a stored hand to some raw format. I don't have PT, so I can't help. Try this link.
