I'm a player who uses and abuses emotes and throwables in 888 poker and I realize that some players are uncomfortable and offended by this, even coming to chat to question me.

I would like to know your opinion, do you believe that using emotes, laughter and provocations in 888 Poker is strategy or a lack of respect?

I use them just for fun, even though I take the game seriously, I believe that this can end up destabilizing mentally weak players.

What do you think about this, can you use them at will or do you believe there is an ethical and respectful limit to using these emotes to provoke Cardchat members?

Leave your opinion in the comments.

In GG one can throw an egg to another ones face or hit him with boxing gloves.
Would one do that in real life? Probably not. Then why would that be okay online?
People can do what they want, I don't care. I have turned off all unnecessary animations on all sites that I use.

I don't play there... but to answer the question of strategy or lack of respect..

it can be both, it can also put a target on your back so that goes both ways,

I think private forum games are intended to be more friendly so I would

say probably more lack of respect if you are "abusing" them as you say,

if players are coming to you and complaining I think that's your answer👍

Players can be different, sometimes even mentally unbalanced, but it seems to me that the use of all these emoticons only indicates the emotional instability of the person who uses them. I've also noticed that you use them a lot, and frankly, combined with the observations I've made about you, I've concluded that you are a very emotional person as well.

I use throwing objects in 888 poker if some players start to get cheeky, and I also respond if something flies at me, I don’t feel any resentment or anger, only fun.

How can that happen? There's no chat on 888.

Some lucky players deserve a horseshoe in the head sometimes.

It's silly but a little fun, and it reminds them that if it wasn't for luck, they would have lost the hand.

But to overdo it is childish.

The use of emotions, laughter, provocations is not a strategy or disrespect. It's just nonsense, which is typical of players who have never been able to become adults. I generally don't pay attention to such things.

This is nonsense.
Using all these childish features is not for serious players. Players who take the game seriously will not do such nonsense :)

probably all poker rooms have it already... and there is a function to disable stickers and animations, so who doesn't like it, it distabilizes it, can just turn off this fuction and that's it... all these throwing objects is nothing more than foolishness)))

I tend to use emojis a lot in tournaments, and I receive a lot of criticism regarding this, people questioning me if I have a psychological problem, or even getting irritated by it, and well, I use them just for fun, but it seems that in a way this it is seen as an offense or lack of etiquette by some or many players, so I would like to know your opinion, can a player use emojis at will in tournaments, throw them, use laughter frequently or does it sound like something disrespectful, if emojis exist and the room allows you to use them unlimitedly, what would be the problem? What do you think about it?

In addition to this matter, there are moderators on platforms like 888, partypoker etc... who monitor live tournaments, and can see the use of these emojis?

Coincidence or not, after irritating the players a lot, I simply start making a lot of badbets and to not receive more valuable hands, could the excessive use of emojis be related to any change in the distribution of cards, because they interpret this as disrespect?

Hugs to everyone.

I don't care how my opponents behave at the table, but their behaviour allows me to draw conclusions about their mental or emotional state. I myself communicate very rarely during the game and do not use emoticons, but if someone abuses the use of emoticons, it does not bother me much.

It's kind of disrespectful, especially when he keeps complaining when he wins a hand

As for the members of our community and our freerolls, we would not like to see hysterical opponents at the table who use emoticons non-stop.
As for whether emoticons affect results, skills, or anything else, I think it's a ridiculous conspiracy.

So it's okay to use emotions excessively, what could it change in your game? Does this offend you? Are you going to sleep sad about this?

From the moment you say that it is not legal to use it in games against members, you admit that it offends you and disturbs you in some way, so you can be more objective in your response and really say what you think about it.

In short, in other words, a player who respects himself and others will not abuse emoticons during the game. If you do not respect yourself and others, you will abuse emoticons during the game.
I will sleep well, my friend, don't worry. Think better of yourself.

Well, clearly you treat emojis as a lack of respect, and I just see it as fun, your answer makes it clear that you believe that, since I only use them for fun .

The poker room is being disrespectful as they allow them to use it unlimitedly.

In short, your answer is: Yes, I find it disrespectful, and yes, it offends me and I am offended and tilted.

I really don't care if others use emojis or throw things at me, specially because I usually play multiple tables and also do others things at the same time, so, most of the times I don't really notice if someone is using too much emojis..lol
But I think some players may get angry with that, but I guess that's why the poker rooms created them, right?

I think that the one which looks like poop are disgustingly disrespectful. As for the others, while I don't use them, I just consider them as something some people like doing for fun in a fratboy/highschooler way.

I don't think it's disrespectful since they're there to play, I think players shouldn't worry about that

A psychologist can help you better with your insecurities.
You're wrong. My answer is quite different :)
I treat emoticons like emoticons. I treat them as a chat function. I treat players who use emoticons quite normally. I treat players who behave inappropriately and abuse emoticons as unbalanced, emotionally unstable, mentally disturbed players :)

In my opinion, players who abuse emojis have complexes and lack self-confidence, so they want to create the appearance of increased social activity and interaction with other players. I'm more than sure that players who are professionals or want to be will not behave in such a stupid way.

Spend 15 minutes watching a Triton Cash game... They barb each other over hundred thousand dollar hands and these are some of the best players in the world... And there's quite a bit of emote spamming on the VIP games on GG.

Maybe you're just a grumper

Why would I care if some random from half way across the world is spamming emotes, you can turn them off on most sites.

Being able to spam a gif of Nanalan eating chicken nuggets is one of the only things I like about GGPoker
