I, also, suspect it's a UK government thing - GG need to know that you have money in your bank account, and are not going to get into debt by borrowing beyond your means. Though how they can tell that won't happen is beyond me! On a different thread I queried the new poker stars 'Pay By Bank' notification because I doubt whether it will go through, because the UK banks will probably have something in place to stop payments to a gambling site. I'd be interested to see whether the OP manages to eventually deposit from the UK, except by PaySafe or paypal.

Yeah its depressing. That's what I've been saying, our governments do not protect us, they only prey on us. They only care about protecting their own power and keeping control over us. They don't care one tiny bit if we suffer or are poor. But actually the best way to keep power and control is to keep us poor and uneducated. That's why they want to much control over finances, information etc.
This happens at the casinos as well that have poker rooms. I of course can't speak for all casinos in NA and EU but at least those that I've been to, they will require the same kind of documents that show where our money comes from if we go there and exchange for "a lot" of chips. And "a lot" is actually quite a small amount that they use their own personal judgement for. It could evenbe as little as $500 and that could be considered a lot for one person but not for another person.
All western countries are completely screwed. I just want to become successful enough with an income that I can leave this hell hole on earth with all these corrupt governments supressing and lying to us. If we want freedom we have to leave EU and NA.
That is after all what happened at black friday. So many american poker players relocated to countries outside western gov influence so they can play poker. This shit is never going to end as long as we live in EU and NA. We have to get out of here but it's easier said than done. And this shit is just going to get 100 times worse with CBDC.

Please tell me, have you passed the pokerstars verification? And was there a request from PokerStars for you to provide your bank statement?
Personally, I was verified on PokerStars, GG, 888, and unibet, and everywhere they asked me to provide a bank statement.

No difficulty with Stars. No request for a full bank statement. Supplied what they requested: passport, utility bill. I don't mind verifying but a full bank statement is a step too far.

GG poker ask for verification on the first cashout, but I didn't had any major problems on the verification. I only had to send a copy of my ID and a utility bill. I didn't had to send photo of myself with my ID, which was good, because I hate when they ask for this. Maybe they asked you bank statement because you used bank account/credit card to deposit/cashout.

I went through verification on various sites and everywhere provided a receipt for utility services as a document to confirm my address. And that was enough. And a passport, of course. I don't remember that I provided my bank statement anywhere.

I have POKEROK the same as GGPOKER. I emailed them and within 5 minutes they verified me and I calmly sent them the documents by email and they went smoothly, quickly and easily. I don't know if they asked for additional documents or something else they work very well, I can say that their support works well done

Yes they request full statements for upto 3 months in the UK. I declined and play on stars, 888 and Grosvenor without any verification issues
