Nice one, congrats and very well done. Ive been playing these $24 tourneys on FT for a while now, and i have to say that they are one of the best out there. So far ive won 1, and gotten to 2 final tables out of about 20 attempts so they are not that tough, and a nice prize to go with it :)

I hear ya TB. This is the first one I tried, so obviously I feel the same way.

The best part is that I was able to do it with nice, solid poker. I won most of my chips without a showdown, just picking up small pots here and there. And the showdowns I did have were when I waited for very premium hands and played them hard. I didn't need too many 50/50 coin flips, mostly they were like that last hand, ~70/30ish.

Even better for the ROI -- I actually won my entry to this tourney in an $8 satellite! The FT $8 satellites for $26 tournament tokens are an extremely good way to go, in my opinion.

Congrats on the win, Beriac! And you're right, the $8 satellites to for the $26 token, along with the $26 for the $75 token, are solid ways to make some coin at that site.

I haven't tried the $26->$75 satellites yet, but if they're at all like the $8->$26 ones, I'm all for it.

Ive only done the $26 > $75 token games twice, won 1 ticket, but the standard of play was still horrific, one big hand and your mint.

Ive gone off the $8 sats for some reason, the beats in them are terrible, i think i had a bad night at them once or something silly, ill have to start at them again.

I've played 3 of these $8 turbo satellites now, and I've won 3 $26 tickets (one of which I'm used). My only concern is that I'll end up with a big stack of these tickets and never get around to using them!!

Thanks for the offer, TB. I may someday take you up on it -- for now, my surplus stands at a manageable two... after the result from the last $24+2 I entered using such a token, I have a feeling I may be able to squeeze in another one or two. But if I keep playing the turbos and winning more, I'll let you know.

The $8 sats are interesting, to say the least. The last time I played in this, I busted out the first hand...but it was kinda funny what was said afterwards.

UTG player raises it 4*BB to start off, player before me calls, and I'm sitting in MP with AA - nice hand to start a tournament with, eh? I think of what to do here, then pop it up 3*original raiser. UTG then re-raises me all-in, I can't get called fast enough, and what do you think UTG pushed with on the first hand? 4-6 sooooted - but after the flop comes a dastardly 3-5-7, his move gets paid off.

Funniest line afterwards was this same idiot (who busted out about 10 hands later) saying "That's what you get for overplaying Aces!"

The $24+2 satellites are better plays, and if you ever find that you have no use for the $75, play the cash game tournaments - you might end up doing something like this:

That is so funny. But that is what you get for playing aces. I say playing, because it is nearly impossible to overplay aces. The only way you can overplay them is to overbet pre-flop and scare away everyone else's money from the pot. To quote Sammy Farha, "I'd play that guy all day, every day for the rest of my life if I could".

Anyway, thanks for the insights! I'll try a few more and see where I get.

I like how you gave lots of details.. i was pretty excited just reading it.. then u psyched me out at the begining like...

Fell to last in chips pretty quickly, all-in blind-steal attempt from the button with T3o goes horribly awry as I get called by the BB with A5... 3 on the flop... 5 on the turn... T on the river! Whoo!

5th place out of 9

i was readig it at first thinking .. well 9th is still great profit..

but dam - beatiful win man
