I believe it is similar to WPTglobal but is a version that will be solely available to the U.S. market

That sounds promising. I still don't understand why in my state I can go online and order scheduled narcotics through an M.D site or have an assault rifle delivered to my house but I can't play a friendly game of hold'em online. Go figure.

It still depends on the state. When I lived in Missouri, ClubWPT was not allowed in that state (although I played it for a little bit when I lived in Kansas). I believe it's now available in Missouri, but I moved to Georgia now, where it is not available. But it looks like ClubWPT Gold is available where I live now. Interesting.

I just signed up. You have to send it documentation that you are you (Basically a driver's license and a pic of yourself) through your smartphone. After it's all verified, it says you have signed up and they will contact you once ClubWPTGold has launched.

It looks like they will have an online freeroll for signing up that will get you into the live freeroll if you win or place in that online freeroll. Probably a certain prize amount that includes travel to the live freeroll if you were to place in the online freeroll. That's what I'm guessing.

And if you get a "Golden Passport" from the online freeroll, then it gets you into the event at the Wynn Las Vegas which takes place Dec 14-21. They don't have all the details listed yet, and haven't mentioned whether it would or would not include travel and hotel (which it should, imo).

During the freeroll there will be 100 prizes of the 10K entry into the world championship. The golden passports are all going to be given out in random drawing, there is no "play for them" component

No help for travel - they're giving away 5 million in a freeroll - that should be lots of incentive. They are paying top 500 players, 2000 tickets will be handed out, so pretty high percentage of winners. Keep in mind that 5,000,000 / 2000 tickets means each ticket has a $2500 value. Tickets non-transferable. 1st prize is a cool million. they'll have a bounty component once they reach 500 players. Giving away 100 seats into the 10K main event - for that, the people in the final 500, when you are busted out and leaving, (which you have some payday due to being final 500) you draw an envelope. 400 blanks, 100 have the 10K entry

I understand completely - and please don't take this the wrong way as it might sound condescending, but that certainly is not my intent. I think that's part of the business plan - this isn't a "freeroll for the good of the poker world", it's $5 million in advertising for their new (not even operational yet) website where they want customers to come pay $$$ every month to play. Therefore their target audience is people that can crap the money to head to vegas, so they've geared towards that a bit. There certainly are lots of freerolls on WPT global that people can participate in, so they do provide freerolls without having to have the expenses of a vegas trip - but that also is a business decision where they are trying to entice freeroll players to become paying customers. They don't want to shell out 5 million to people they have little to no hope of recouping that investment so they decide a way to increase odds of getting a better ROI. As mentioned, each ticket is worth $2500, and they wouldn't be doing that outlay without the expectation that over the long run they make that back directly or indirectly.

Is there a deadline to sign up? I've seen this WPTGOLD on some of the YouTuber's I follow. Ashley Sleeth, Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme and Rampage have all shared a promo code which is their name I think.
