I wouldn't want to be exposing this here. I'm new here on the forum, in fact I'm new to poker in general. I made my 888poker account on September 23rd, through a recommendation from a professional poker friend I met at an event, he told me it would be a friendly platform to start with, with interesting freerolls, a cool field. I played a few freerolls without depositing any money. until I got excited and said, I'm going to deposit 20UDS with the WELCOME100 bonus.

When I deposited, I noticed that the bonus did not appear in my funds. I went to support to claim my bonuses.

I spoke to ELEONOR, record this name.
The conversation was going well until she told me that she hadn't entered the code, I felt very sad with myself for having probably gotten distracted, and I JOKED that it must have been because of my ADHD. (which I don't have a medical report on) in brazil we joke about this, it's a way of saying that we are distracted.


ELEONOR then starts to ask me about my ''condition'' if it bothers me with gambling games, she asks if I want my account to be canceled indefinitely. sounding like an AI speaking.

I start to explain myself, and say no, I was just there for my 100% BONUS.

She continues, saying that my case would go to a higher level, due to my "CONDITION"

I start to get impatient, and say I don't want to lose my account.

it simply disappears for a few minutes. When he suddenly comes back, he sends a message apologizing, but I can't even READ IT PROPERLY.

when my ACCOUNT is simply CLOSED.
I go into a tailspin.
I try to log into my account and the message appears
''your account has been temporarily banned, please contact our support''

your mistake is that you started talking too much with ELEONOR and I know from experience that 888 Poker has the worst support service in the world

you will get your money back but it will take time

I recommend playing pokerstars or GG poker because the support service there is ok

I think jumping to the conclusion anyone "stole" your 20 bucks is a bit of a reach,

sounds like you should actually contact support at support@888poker.com

I'm curious to see the actual transcript of the chat. It sounds like you said some things that triggered them into having to protect you from "possible gambling problems". 888poker is highly regulated and licensed to be able to operate in the countries where they are available. Part of that regulation is to ensure a safe environment for people, and having protocols in place for potential problem gambling red flags. You can't say things in jest, and then expect them to not act in the manner which they have been trained. They have a job to do, and if they fail to follow protocol, they are fired, or the site could be in jeopardy of losing its license. They aren't going to trifle with determining whether or not what you said was a joke. They are forced to take what you say at face value.

The money isn't stolen. It will be there when your account is re-opened.
As people said above my comment, its not a good idea joking about mental illness. Anticipate some tedious email exchanges with them but it should be solvable

I t looks like you spent money into an account without thinking that you can lose it.

Spend only real cash into a poker account that you can afford to lose.

If the site is closed for whatever reason (in the past black friday) your money may be lost forever.
Don't think it is a bank with insurances, it is a business with high risks.

I agree with you on that - I feel like an individual adult should be the master of their own destiny. Unfortunately though, that is not the state of things these days in a lot of circumstances. :(

Ur Money is Safe with 888, they have to pay players If they decide to close down. This is maybe true for some small, unknown Sites.

Most people who come up with the full tilt example dont even know why they got shot down. I read this all the time: "Ur Money can disappear at any time, look at full tilt." 😅

So how many of the Market leaders disappeared with Player funds since black friday happened? Yeah exactly, none.

The only rooms im aware of are Lock Poker and i was a victim myself @ Duckpoker for 500 Bucks.

@pabetv Honestly the customer support on that site SUCKS! I would not be surprised to hear that a prerequisite on their job application would require that they'd all been previously fired from McDonalds.

I have seen & heard of many who have lost access to their accounts on that site & for the most ridiculous reasons and often simple misunderstandings.

They may have actually done you a favour... that site sucks. Years ago I recommended it to many people - - not anymore.
Although there are some good points with the site there are many bad ones including very slimey stuff (ie. that 'bonus' that they give for a variety of reasons, can become a huge problem making it so you don't have access to your funds in your account) There's a bunch of posts about it on the 888poker thread on Cardschat (I don't recall what pages they're on). Know this, coming from a player who has played on that site since 2008 & have probably played 100's of thousands of hands on there (Cash games), I would NEVER accept a BONUS on that site EVER!!! (and don't accept a 'player to player' transfer on there either... they consider it a 'BONUS' (just so they can screw you over again)). My last 'bonus' on there, I didn't even know it was a 'bonus'. I'd placed some bets on their SportsBetting section, which gave me a ticket to play in their poker freeroll (it is why I placed a bet on that site as I normally wouldn't because they give worse odds than any of the other poker sites I play on). I played the freeroll, did well in it and I think I won ~$65 It didn't show up in my account???? But then I see it's been considered a 'Bonus' and apparently I would've needed to place a bunch of SportsBets to clear it but none of my bets would even clear it until after my regular account was down to $0... then you can start playing with the 'bonus' money in an effort to clear it but at ridiculous odds of clearing it. It is a SCAM! (fortunately the 888 support guy on CC was able to remove the bonus for me... yah the 'bonus' I had never agreed to in the first place).

THe 'Bonus' stuff on there is just an example of some of the poor business practices that site engages in. I would never recommend that site to anyone ever again... there's just way better ones to pick from. ie. GGPoker, Pokerstars, AmericasCardRoom, partypoker, WPTglobal. (I don't know which ones you can play on from where you reside).

Yah, the only ones who lost money on Fulltilt were the ones who lost it while playing poker on the site, LOL.
They also don't understand the circumstances of how & why things happened the way they did.

There's been a bunch of sites that have gone under and ripped off their customers, but not from BlackFriday that I am aware of.

And I too feel that your money is safe on any of the well-known sites these days. The ones you'll want to avoid are the 'Clubs' you will hear about via social media. I would never send a penny that way.

And Suns, I know 888 has some good aspects but also know that not everyone has a great experience when going to withdrawal funds from the site (I know of a few... including myself, having to 're' verify for the umpteenth time even though I've played on there for over 15years and have made numerous WD's & Deposits... and previously many P2P transfers). I have a funny story about one that I'll message you about... doubt they'd want their name in a public thread.

That's when you made your first mistake (Before the joke). You don't need to go to support to ask for your bonus to begin with. All you needed to do is start playing and accumulate points. Bonuses are released in installments according (And in parallel) to how many points you collect by playing.
It's always a good idea to read about how things work before engaging in anything.

I'm going to give you some advice. Never talk to people from other countries like you do here in Brazil. We are very informal and use a lot of irony when we're talking to other people. And they will not understand it all the time. When I went to get my first visa for the USA, I saw someone get their visa denied in my queue for making a joke with the interviewer.

In a business relationship, which is what ours with poker rooms ultimately is, they'll take everything you say literally.

On the other hand, it's completely possible that your account will be unlocked. Use the support email and explain the mistake you made, apologize and they'll probably accept your argument. And no more jokes, please!

I spent days doing a study on which platform would be the best to deposit my first money... when I went to deposit, I was distracted, watching the penalty shootout in the Libertadores between São Paulo x Botafogo.
So, I didn't enter the code to get the bonus, I didn't even realize it at the time, I only realized it when the money dropped into the account.

I confess that when my professional friend recommended it to me I was a little suspicious because of so many offers... here in Brazil we have a phrase. ''when the offer is too much, even saints are suspicious'' lol
