I have never made a single deposit on any site in the 20 odd years I have been playing On-line Poker, Sure I have bought into Live game Tournaments in Pub's Club's and Casino's but they are different in that you can see your opponents and watch for visible tell's.
On-line there are thing's that can and do happen all the time, and there is nothing worse than losing Internet connection or having a computer crash on you, causing you to lose the game and money.
Poker is just a game, a game I enjoy playing and if I can play On-line for FREE! so much the better, I use the practice I gain from playing On-line and can go to any Live game and play with some of the best players in the tournament, I have done well playing both On-line and Live Games building decent Bankrolls, Virtually and for Real Cash.
There are a lot of differences between Virtual Poker and Live Games, and if you want to be a successful profitable player you need to adjust your game play, depending on where and when you play, just like you need to change your playing style when you change from Tournament games to Cash Games.
It is an ability I have, so that I can play and win in both types of Poker (virtual and live) and do so playing different formats of the game Like Stud, Draw and Omaha as well as Holdem. Why limit yourself to one form of Poker (holdem) when there are so many different types of Poker out there.

Both. I play freerolls when I can, but there aren't always many around when I'm on. For example, I'd love to play more CC freerolls, but 2 of the best night for me are Mon & Thurs (week nights). I often look and see that the only place id Everygame but it doesn't allow UK players for some reason. I'm therefore more limited.
Sure there are some other freerolls around, but again, when I am free to sit down and concentrate, I open all my sites and find very few - so I have to try to play at weekend (that's when there seem to be more available) but I'm also trying to watch 2 hyperactive grandchildren who love nothing better than having a good fight so not ideal conditions :-( So sometimes, I have to resort to either funds or deposits.

It seems one can't be a complete free roller coz to withdraw winnings one has to deposit first and most freerolls are for depositors only .But after I deposited I only play freerolls and use that money for buyins

Both, I play freerolls and Micro Tournaments. The only time I've deposited was to get money off a site or to get special perks, like tournament bunks and things like $10 for $20 etc. I've never had to deposit because I went broke on a site.

Freerolls all day baby, have not deposited in years 25 years or so.I have bout a hundo in 1 account and 40 or 50 in couple others. I remember alot of old sites I played on and did good..stars,pokerhost, ignition, bovada, miss ol stars, crazy with 10,000 players in their freerolls sometimes and cash. Good luck crushin em 🍻

i am a freeroller
for the most part . many online poker sites have enough ways to run up an account from zero .(getting any winnings out is the problem ! ). i did make a deposit on Ignition though .

I am a freeroll guy. Only deposit if it is required to do so to be able to withdraw. And even then, I only deposit with my winnings from another poker site.
I feel bad, I would love to play $100 tourneys and let my account get to thousands of dollars, but with Black Friday and sites coming and going, naw, when my accounts hit $500, I look for the exits. Stuck playing small ball.

I play for real money with my freeroll winnings!!! Been doing well the last few weeks in the freerolls on a couple different sites!!! Won $3.50 in the ACR CC freeroll last night!

I like to play free tournaments of course, who doesn't like free things but if obviously I deposited before in the poker rooms to play tournaments, basically I can say that most of the tournaments that I play daily are tournaments with free entry and with very good rewards. low but on weekends if I play tournaments with buy-ins let's say low to micro, maximum $6 a buy-in but if I lose I don't rebuy I feel like I'm going to play more pressured trying to recover let's say $12 instead of $6 which was my first buy-in, I try Vary in tournament entries to have a greater chance of winning something at least and have more banking to one day play tournaments with gigantic entries.

I would start as a freeroller to test the site and if I liked it I would take advantage of their "welcome package". A lot of sites offered a great first deposit package so it's always worth looking into those, just check the terms and conditions on them.
