Online
There are a few perks to online poker.
One thing is you don't have to tip a dealer whenever you rake in a pot. The vigorish, amount you pay to play the game or the amount the casino rakes in from every pot, is usually lower. Giving a dealer $10 or $20 every time you rake in a couple hundred dollar pot takes its toll. This all adds to your pocketbook.
There is more of a variety of games in online poker, i.e. standard games, double-up, triple-up, standard speed, fast, turbo, hyper turbo, etc...
There is more of a range online. You can play anything from a $.25 micro game to games with several hundreds of dollars for the buy-ins.
If you're good at it, you can play multiple games at once, something you can't do in a casino. I've heard of pros playing up to 16 games at once, several hours a day every day, and making hundreds of thousands of dollars doing it.
You seldom find a freeroll at the
casinos. Buy-in tournaments, yes. Also tournaments you must qualify for, such as registering ten full houses or better within a week's time, yes.
You can play in the convenience and comfort of your own home, just about anytime day or night.
I do miss the pretty female dealers at the casinos, though.
May the Poker Gods favor your journey, wherever you decide to play.
