I am catching myself to get bored when playing online poker. So I start reading the newspaper or watch some TV series online. Of course that does not make my play any better.

If you are taking notes as all professionals do, you will never be bored or lose focus on the game. If you deflect your mind from poker you can easily make that one mistake that costs you a buy-in or the tournament. Taking notes also helps you more deeply understand the game and will help you to make better decisions thus making more money and having more fun.

Tv distracts. I'd rather listen to music, pay more attention to the game of my opponents and make notes about them. so it's better to beat the boredom .

You must have focus,but i read people played few tables,and then they don't have distructions,but if you play few tables how you can be 100% focus on one,it is same like you watch tv,or read newspaper.So you sit on 6,7,8 tables it is good,but if you read book that is not good.We are all different,i like drink coffie,listne good music,it is good distruction for me.

While playing poker, I do my best to take notes on players and colour code them so that I know their range and tendencies. Sometimes I play more than one tourney or a play money ring table or two. Of course, I also watch videos, movies and other background activities at times.

However, it is wise to try to focus on the game and look out for players who have check/fold to any bet so that you can throw in a min bet and get them out of the hand and pay attention to those who think for a while before they check when certain cards hit the table. There are online tells that one should try to look out for and if you are doing other things - you will miss out.

I typically listen to an episode of the Joe Rogan podcast and drink a glass of whiskey! Later in a tournament or if I'm in a big hand I'll pause and focus on the game, but for the most part I'm just relaxing and having a good time.

It depends how important to me is the game I'm playing. I may be even having lunch or dinner in front of the screen, but if I am in "the game", I pick my deck of cards and start shuffling and playing with the cards. Water and coffee.

There has been a few topics with the same question but i will answer this.... I also find myself bored during the game so i will watch a series or movie that i haven't watched yet. I try and focus on the game as much as i focus on the movie. I've even managed to play up to 4 tables while watching a movie.

It depends.

If the tournament is very important to me - huge buy-in, hart way to enter with many satellites - I try to concentrate on this one and only tournament. Making notes, thinking about every single hand, watching other tables at the end of the bubble.

If not, I use to play maybe 3 - 4 tournaments or watch some TV. Or try to do some study-stuff. Focussed on Poker of course.

Cashgames always only with one table, totally concentrated.
