I don't think you should compare yourself to other people with something like the amount you deposit on a
poker site.
Generally it's best to look at it as a business decision mixed with a personal finance decision so no two people are ever going to be in the same place for comparison.
Once you're profitable at a limit your main concern should be keeping your
bankroll safe so you can realize your edge and playing as much volume as you can.
If you're beating $10 games you should keep enough on the site to be able to play your games without having to deposit every day. You would probably want to keep enough on a site that you would have to run reasonably bad for a while before you had to deposit.
If you're losing at $1 games it doesn't matter how much money you put on a site, you'll eventually lose if if you play enough volume.
Bankroll questions become easier when you have a positive ROI, you just need to make sure you have enough buy ins to keep playing in the games you beat. If you're a losing player, no deposit amount will save you from your fate.
