I think it depends on the player. I personally benefit more playing online. But mostly because I didn't have much of a chance to play live. I believe that online poker gives more possibilities to all types of players. But I have to admit that I like playing live better. It generates more fun and adrenaline for me.

What do you think??
I believe that Live is more profitable than online, for me anyways.
Online can be too easy for many players to throw away small and large amounts of money quickly. This can be done at multiple tables on multiple sites. One click of a button and it's gone...no one can see you.
In a live cash game or tournament you are being watched and you are watching.
In Vegas you can walk from tournament to tournament and play several small buy-ins one after the other (pre-covid).
For me actually handing over a few hundred dollar bills at a cash game to buy chips, puts me in a zone that I do not get into online...working on this issue of mine.

Hello. You know, I think, like others, that live poker is more profitable. My thoughts - Online Algorithms are good, but will never come close to the true randomness in live play.

if you look from the side of earnings as work, then online is certainly more profitable, since not everywhere there are live tournaments, and if there are then very rarely

I think it's all based on how good you are -you lose or make more money online than you would in a casino as you're playing higher volume. That being said it's easier to play lower limits online, so I think online gives you more opportunity to find a stake you're profitable at (as opposed to having to start cash at $1/$2 or minimum $50 buy-in MTTs).

Definitely not. In online poker you will never reach the win rates that you could have in live poker. The reasons are obvious. In live poker you play against weaker players and you can better exploit the advantages of a good poker player. You got more information from your opponent by watching him closely. A good player can get a win rate of 25 blinds out of 100 hands in live poker. The same player can only win 5 blinds out of 100 hands in online poker.

I agree, but how many hands can a player play in a live game? And how many if he plays online? I think a good player can win in both settings nearly the same. Not per hand, but per hour.

A little late to the party...

But I think it depends on the game type.
Not a pro myself but I feel certain game types (such as SnGs / table poker) lend better to online while tournaments are more profitable in person.

I would imagine the profit per hand would also be higher in person vs online since you can read opponents more readily. BUT you can play far more hands online than in person.

TLDR
Tournaments: more profit in real life
SNG: depends on availability
Cash Tables: online due to volume of play (long term).

Its simple

What do you think??

very simple answer and i know everyone got one. Most poker players think too highly of themselves and can never admit they just arent that good at it. Truth is if your good fundamentally at poker and you studied the push shove charts and know how figure out where you are in a hand at the moment then youll always do very well at the lower levels. thats penny games up to 1 2 no limit. Most ppl try to do a high level strategy at these lower levels its like putting a navy seal in an Xbox call of duty game and watching him lose every game. In theory the Seal guy should own cause he can really do the shit in the game, but they arent realling going at it its a video game. Point is Know what game you are playing. Know your players and youll always do well. They both are profitable for the players who really know what they are doing. everyone else is going broke consistantly.

I think you may be able to have a higher win % live, but think you would have a much higher $/Hr online with multi-tabling.

It is probably harder to table select live, but you do have the extra benefit of live tells.

No and Yes..kinda..I think it is easier because of more dummies the merrier. Meaning there are more amatures to take money from. I love live poker and its definitely harder because most players are better and it makes you better playing live im my opinion. Good luck.

Considering where the question is being asked.....I’ll say online is more profitable

Simple reason why?

You don’t see freerolls at a Casino much.

I hear soooo much chirping in this place about freerolls are awesome ways!!! to build a bankroll so I can’t believe many here actually taking $300 to a casino and playing a real table
