Whatever you're quoting here ^ is completely out of context (I'm assuming you're talking about variance??? but who knows because your post sure isn't making any sense to me... maybe I'm an idiot?).

You suggest the probability of winning a 100 hand session in one evening to be 42% (where does one grab at such an arbitrary number?) And fwiw, this doesn't relate to OP's question but I will comment on your statement.
IF what you're saying is accurate, why is it that in 5x 100 hand sessions on WPTglobal (Pace table... which is their 'zoom-style format', I will have 1 losing session (probably lower than this). I'd suggest I am profitting 85% of the time.
And over 1,000 hands, I can assure you on WPTglobal I will be winning 100% of the time. (perhaps if it was 1,000 hands in one sitting, it might be lower... ie. 95%)
And over 9,000 hands, 100% of the time

no need to make life super complicated everything is simple whether you know how to make money with poker or not and whether you're a winner or a loser at the end of the day and that's basically it

but I sometimes mention numbers so that poker events and conversations are not so boring
and if you have a formula for making money from poker, then go ahead, but if you just like to chat - that's not bad either

I think no less than $900.Each player has his own unique bankroll, which depends on his financial capabilities, skill level, and preferences in the game.Mistakes in the distribution and use of the bankroll lead to serious consequences, up to and including the player’s ruin.

I think that the bigger the stake, the better people play there, do you play well?

First off, one would need to be a winning player at a particular format and at a particular buy-in level.

For MTT play I would estimate that you'd need approx. --> $5,000

Let's say we have an ROI of +15% We'd need to be playing approx. $650 in buyins each day which would equal approx. 30x $22 buyin MTT's (to be able to play 30 MTT's per day, you'd need to be efficient at playing at least 12 tables simultaneously)

To be playing a $22 abi, you'd want at least 200 buyins in your bankroll. So.. approx. $4,500 (probably $5k or $6k would be more reasonable)

OR if you chose Cash Games
If you were a winning player, 4-tabling 25nl Z00M-'style' tables, you could earn $100/day while playing ~10hrs./day
This is the answer I was looking for.

This directly depends on your ROI.

Making money with poker is not safe-In 99% of cases, poker is for fun, in addition to adrenaline and spending money

how much money do I need to earn $100 from poker - well sometimes 1 cent is enough but sometimes you have to spend $1000

😂 At least 1000$ bankrolll or a sum around

brilliantly and correctly said friend because in the long run that's how poker is!

a large % of players, even if they win something, then give it back tenfold to poker and I emphasize a LARGE % OF PLAYERS
it sounds depressing but it's a fact

This here is pretty bang on the money. I'm sure it surprises a lot of players just how big a bankroll one needs to comfortably play at a stake level that allows them to make $100/day. And $100/day isn't even really good money hell it's not even min wage here in canada and grinding 10hrs.day to get it. No thanks.

Here in Canada I'd want to making double that so $200/day. So double MTT's buy-ins and move to 50nl zoom. Now that's closer to pretty good money. Still grinding 10hrs/day is pretty gross. Majority of players will be burnt out in 3-6 months if that. When do I get to cut back to 6-8hrs/day. When's retirement :ROFLMAO: or when do I get to cut back playing and enjoy life. No wonder most poker players who play for a living are always looking miserable and are mostly intolerable to be around for a long period of time.

Playing online poker for a living is tough a road.

Cheers!!!

That depends a lot, if you are a winning player or not is one of them.

If it's just a matter of money, I think a bankroll of $3-5 thousand is enough to make $100 a day.

In order to win 100$ in online poker you should spend and lose $100-$500 , but in online casino I guess you have to lose$500 -$1.000 in order to win. $100 .lol

then why do so many people play poker if it is so unprofitable
what is it - stupidity, illness or foolishness...

As has been hinted at already, this is not a particularly relevant question, since you need a lot more than capital to win $100 per day in online poker. More relevant questions would be "how good do I need to be", "which games do I need to play", and "how many games do I need to play". Also what is the purpose of winning $100 per day? If the real question is, how much money you need to play poker professionally, if your daily expenses are $100, then I would say at least $100.000. In that way you can pay your expenses for almost 3 years without winning anything, and much less than that is going to be extremely stressfull.

Which brings me on to the question of bankroll management. The required bankroll for a certain game depends on your winrate (cash) or ROI (tournaments). But what many people dont understand, is, that if you make forced withdrawals, that has the same effect as having a lower winrate or ROI. If you win $100 per day but also need to withdraw $100 per day, then you will have the same variance as a break-even player. And this mean, there is not even any bankroll, which can protect you from the risk of going broke, if you play long enough. So if you want to play professionally and have expenses of $100 per day, you actually need to win more than $100 per day to even be able to have a bankroll and avoid the risk of going broke.

Which brings me to the final point, which is, should you actually attempt to play online poker professionally, meaning as your only source of income? And for me the answer to that is a huge "no". At least if you live in a high income country, where many other choises of career are just so much better. For me online poker is fine as a side hustle, but you should be able to cover your expenses with money earned from something else, so that money won in online poker is more like the cherry on the cake.

there is no formula because, as I said earlier, poker is only meant for spending money in 97% of cases - so that it would have been smarter to imagine an example with ice cream
1)we spend the money on ice cream
2)we taste the pleasure and energy of eating ice cream
3)we cannot get money back for eaten ice cream

Yes but when someone ask this kind of question, they obviously assume, they are going to be among the 3% (or whatever the number is) of long term winning players.

I won $100 in the tournament and lost 3 minutes later in heads-up and I didn't open a single hand and then the stack just vanished.

You should deposit $730,000 in a high-yield savings account. That would give you ~5% annual interest rate which would be ~$100/day. You are welcome.

This is exactly the safest way, LOLOLOL

I think you need $5000, it's the equivalent of 50 buy-ins to hope to win one buy-in per day if you have a good level. Good luck !

No guarantee in poker. Not a very relevant question really. If you play cash games in poker you could go days or weeks without getting any money back. So the question is a bit like asking: “How long is a piece of string.”

I want to ask how much money I need now to win $100 a day, and how to bet to win, everyone.
Bet on the red and don't forget about the zero, it's the right thing to do. How much money do you need? You need as much as possible :)
