I always make sure that I have a coffee ready for the start of the tournament. I get a bit jittery if I don't have a coffee ready to go, as odd as that sounds

I have a bite to eat so I am full, then I have a Gatorade or two next to where I play and finally, I get my mp3 player ready to go. Also, I wear comfortable sweat pants and a T-shirt.

Hello everyone!
I wonder if do you guys make some specials, like a ritual, procedure or whatever.
I, about half an our before, take a good shower, fix about 1/2 liter of coffee to drink during the game, liter of water, put on wearing my cowboy hat and, finally, set up the songs to roll. These all if the game is a kind of an important one.
What about you?

I enjoy meditating, than reviewing some hands that got me in doubt in old games, so I start playing, with a lot of coffee and cigarettes to be my loyal friends during the session.

I try to go to the court or to the Gum before a poker session, it helps to relieve possible stress from the game. And I also usually try to start the game with freerolls, to stretch myself without spending money.

Depending on the tournament, I play very focused to identify the worst and go after them, however, if you can't get the worst player at the table in half an hour, it means that the worst player at the table is up to you. I also do my exercise routine before going in to play.

How I prepare before an online poker tournament

I play late registration poker tournaments (registering 30 seconds-1 minute before closes),
so I look at the current situation in the poker tournament.

How many are registered.
How many players are they away from the money.
How close is the tournament. From more players finishing in the money.

The reason I look at that is, because it might not be to my advantage to play im the tournament.

If the tournament is more then 55 players from the money with no chance of more players finishing in the money.
The question is then is the risk worth the reward?

In micro stakes tournaments and registering at the close of registration as I grind to build my bankroll making .08 cents profit minimum if I finish in the money with over 55 players in the money winning 0-3 hands is not worth registering for.

Now a $1.65 poker tournament with over 55 players in the money and I can win $2.65 min.
is worth the risk!
I get my buy in back and make a profit!

Don't get me wrong if I win .01 cent either im a casino or poker site I've beat the house and they say the house always wins.
So, in the .08 cent min. profit the risk isn't worth the reward with more then 55 players away from the money at late registration.

I take a look over my range charts as I'm still a noob and make sure I have a tea/coffee to hand and some chilled music on or maybe another poker stream on the other monitor. Then see what the cards bring.

The main thing for me is to get a good night's sleep and eat. In this case, I can play optimally. And it is important that no one interferes. A constant Internet connection is important, because it is annoying if you miss a good hand.

To prepare a session, I just put some music, to listen to while playing, start with one table to prepare a little, get in the mood, and when I feel like I'm ready, I start the session. Sometimes I eat a little before, or at least I drink water, making sure also to have some ready to drink.

I don't really do too much. I try to get comfortable. I usually open Cardschat to get my mind right and maybe a twitch stream. I pretty much just let er rip.

I don't prepare in any way, I play when I feel like it, so I have fun anyway even if I lose.

That's fine. Preparing, or not, does not mean you're gonna win. Having fun is the most important so

recently, I started writing down my notes and goals before the grind - helps me focus o what I need to work on. I also take notes during and right after the tournaments/grinds, so I can learn from my felling's and emotion. I call it Poker EQ :)

I'm sure that there are some things I'd like to be doing before my sessions, but latelly I not doing them.
The number 1 of these thing is MEDITATION, a really wonderful habit, not just for poker, but for ur entire life.
At the tables, a meditating mind have the tranquility to stay focused on the game, just doing the best u can with the cards u are dealt.
