"I'm sorry for my earlier message - I guess I let my poker face slip and made a bad bet on your gender. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I'm willing to fold and ask for your forgiveness. How about we deal a new hand and start fresh over a virtual game of poker?"

Haha nice. Ivey's one my favorite all time players. Thought that was Ivey with hair added but wasn't 100% sure so didn't wanna say anything.

Cheers!!!

It’s funny how the name of a player can sometimes affect the way I play against them. I can’t think of an example or favourite name right now.

A whole other topic but in my 15+ years experience in most cases a players name or pic usually gives away or at least a clue on the basics of how they play or try too. At least from micro(2nl) to low stakes(50nl).

There are exceptions. I'm one. I picked my player name and pic to get action. And I'm in the minority I play nothing like my player name or pic would suggest.

Cheers!!!

I'm outing myself here:
I read the part about Phyllis Ivey before and never bothered about it since I barely know any poker players and don't follow the scene actively.

But when someone else asked, I googled and simply couldn't find this female player but only the male version. Somehow I didn't get the hint and with the hair, I never got the idea of Photoshop being used. 😂

Great idea for a profile pic and nice joke. Probably too high for most of us. 🙈🤣

I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed reading through this thread. It's always fascinating to see the creative and sometimes downright hilarious screen names that poker players come up with. I want to extend a big thank you to the person who started this topic, as it brought some much-needed humor and levity to my day.

Not only did I have a good laugh at some of the names shared here, but I also appreciated the thoughtful advice on choosing a screen name that's positive and memorable. It's a small detail, but it can certainly make a difference in how others perceive us at the virtual poker table.

Overall, I'm grateful for this lighthearted discussion and the reminder that sometimes we need to step back and have a little fun, even when playing a serious game like poker. Thank you again to the original poster and everyone who contributed to this entertaining thread

Thanks for the awesome comment!

I think 'BingoStar' is my favorite .... named after the famous Beatle's drummer Ringo Starr. Bingo ... the definition sometimes given to erratic, maniac type poker players... ones who seem like they are 'playing bingo'.

Well, 'BingoStar' is definitely a nickname worth singing about! Maybe they'll even have their own chart-topping hit like Ringo Starr did. And speaking of erratic poker players, I think we've all encountered a few "Bingos" at the table - they keep things interesting, that's for sure!

But don't worry, I'm not one of those players who thinks the game is rigged. I mean, sure, there are always going to be ups and downs, but that's what makes poker so exciting. Plus, it's always more fun to win fair and square, don't you think?

And as for quirky poker nicknames, I've heard some real gems in my time. There's 'The Wizard', and even 'The Cheese Grater' (don't ask me how they got that one). But I have to say, 'BingoStar' takes the cake - or should I say, takes the pot!

Anyway, thanks for the chat about poker nicknames - it's always great to connect with fellow players who appreciate a good pun or two. Who knows, maybe one day we'll both be sporting our own outrageous nicknames at the table. Until then, let's just keep the good times rolling and the chips stacking

Yah my avatar name isn't the greatest. (I don't like it)

When I first started playing online poker, there were 3 main Poker Tracking software companies - Holdem Manager, PokerTracker, & Poker Office.

PokerOrifice looks like PokerOffice

Poker... 'sounds like' Poker Her. Orifice.... well you can look that one up on Google.
