An unknown player will win it, or at least a lesser known player. Maybe an amateur this year.

My prediction is that the unknown player will win. However, this will not be an amateur, a regular player who has been playing poker for years.
I think you guys are most likely right!

I predict the winner will be Joe Cada. Always gracious and friendly every time I have talked to him.
He's one of my favorite players too.

One more prediction, I think next year will be even higher. Poker was on the verge of another boom in 2019-2020, until the pandemic hit. Online poker and content creation about poker helped keep that poker boom a possibility during the pandemic, though it seemed like it was on "pause." I believe 2023-2024, poker is back on the rise, especially with WSOP records being broken. And it could get a nice boost in 2025, like it was looking to happen in 2021 before the pandemic, but maybe not quite as much of a boom if the pandemic never happened. I think if a woman were to make the Final Table, that would help the potential boom as well.
I sure hope so! A woman on the FT (or winning :D ) would be amazing for enticing more women to play!

464 players left, and there are still some notable names left in the main.

Daniel Hachem, son of wsop Main Event Champ, Joe Hachem. Sitting pretty good in 35th with 2.69M chips.
Tony Dunst sitting at 191st with 1.335M chips.
Kristen Foxen sitting at 197th with 1.32M chips.
Phil Ivey at 334th with 650K chips.
Jonathan Little at 370th with 535K chips.
Maria Ho shortstacked at 426th with 340K chips.

I know it won't happen, but I wouldn't complain if all 6 of these players made the final table.

That would be epic! Would love to see the ladies hang in there to the end.

It is a fact that poker is gaining popularity all over the world due to increased advertising, coverage in the press and on various media resources. Therefore we should expect more participants and a higher prize pool.

Shundan Xiao is sitting in 5th with $12.1M chips and Kristen Foxen has $2.7M in 89th, and under 100 players left. I believe those 2 are the only women left. Foxen is still playing well even if she took a little hit. She could get back up there.

Correction, there are 3 women still in it, I think.

At the time, there were 3. Foxen, Xiao, and Ma.

Now, 18 left. And we are down to 1. Kristen Foxen, and she has been playing so good and now sitting in 5th.

I think there will be 12,087 players and the prize pool will be $107,500,000

I'm rooting for Kristen Foxen. I dont think any woman has ever made the final table in the main event. 2012, Gaelle Baumann got cheated and bubbled out 10th. She got eliminated by a chump who angled and shoved all in somewhere in middle stage, not realizing Gaelle was still in the hand, and the guy mucked. Tournament director was a clown and allowed him to take his chips back.

Kristen Foxen, I want her to not just make the final table but to win the whole thing. I strongly believe this will give lot of inspiration and more women will play poker. Kristen is actually a professional poker player, not just random woman who happened to get far. Would be cool to see her win it.

I think Barbara Enright final tabled the Main years ago but Kristin could be - and will be - the second

It's been 29 years. Barbara Enright finished 5th in the 1995 WSOP Main Event.

So sad to see Kristen Foxen out so close to the FT, tough spot there with KQ vs. AK on an AKJ flop. I thought she was gone for sure yesterday when she had almost nothing left, before that blazing heater.

How can I guess who will win from among over 10000 players? Good luck to every one, especially from my country!

I'm really late for this one as the WSOP ME is already down to the last 9 players from a new all-time record with 10,112 entries- poker is definitely not dead (y)
FT WSOP ME
We have a clear chip leader here but a few double-ups and even the short stacks can win it.. so, IMO it's still tough to say who'll end up with the most prestigious poker trophy and the $10,000,000 prize 💰💰💰, but my favorite is Niklas Astedt - he's IMO the best online tournament player(total winnings on Stars:$21,981,647.59 with an impressive 18.25 ITM%), he has some really good live results too with total Live Earnings $2,971,763 so he seems 'the best' overall poker player at this FT and 59BBs is a really good stack- LFG Lena900!

Among 9 names who made the FT the strongest player currently is Niklas Astedt with a 3rd stack. 59 BBs is more than enough to win so I pick him.
