The 2023 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas had the largest 1st place prize in its history with an astounding $12,100,000 going to the Main Event Champion, Daniel Weinman. The 2006 Main Event record of 8,773 entries was blown out of the water in 2023 with 10,043 entries, and a staggering prize pool of $93,399,900 paid out to the top 1,597 players, and a minimum prize of $15,000. So this begs the question: Will the 2024 WSOP Main Event surpass a prize pool of $100 Million this year? Share your prediction for the total prize pool and number of entries!

Edit: The Main Event broke a new record with just 67 more entries than 2023 for a final count of 10,112 entries!!!

NEW QUESTION: Who will WIN the 2024 WSOP Main Event?

I think the holdem events have gone up a little in participants this year, but the non-holdem events have gone down a bit.

I take a wild guess and think a lot of players are in for the hype and potential glory of the main event so there will be even more players this year, but not a big increase.

My prediction: around 11,000 entries/players and the prize pool at approximately $102 million.

This week we need to predict something almost unpredictable. Was going to see a future "Voyeur", but that would be kind of cheating.
I think both numbers will be greater than last year's. The prize pool around 103M and the number of participants around 11357.

Dear Tammy with another question of the week:D Nice!

I think the total pricepool will be around 95 millions and there will be around 10500 entrants, similar to last year.

Will be very interesting to see who is going to win this year!

I'm not as bullish as some in this thread in terms of the number of entries the main will get, mainly because the growth of the main event is not by the pros, but my more recreational players taking their shot. Now having said that, a lot of poker players are into crypto, specifically Bitcoin and Ethereum which are both up significantly from last year.

So my prediction: 10,749 entries for a total prize pool of just under $100 million with a first place prize of $12.9 Million

Just guessing that the 2024 WSOP Main Event will not surpass a prize pool of $100 Million this year. Just under 10K this time for 9,500 entries & $88,350,000 prize pool.

Well, after all, inflation all over the world is growing, prices are rising and money is depreciating. This is the biggest event in poker and we all want to be good at it to make money and anyone who can and is passionate about poker enough will try to get in eventually the final prize pool speaks for itself especially for top third and first place, this is an amount that will definitely change your life. I expect a prize pool of over 100 million dollars around 120 million and entries around 14000.

I think there will be 11, 200 entries. @10k a pop, makes $112M although this does not take into account rake. I know for a fact that next year it will be at least 11, 201 entries, cos my plan is to be there next year, by hook or by crook.:eek::eek:

The number of participants will be about 10,000-11,000. You need to multiply this number by the buy-in amount and subtract the rake amount. This is the amount of the prize fund.

I believe that it will exceed 10 million registered this year and I believe that the prize will exceed 120 million... the first of which will win more than 15 million!

I cannot know for sure exactly how many will be the participants or how much for I'll be the prizepool . But I think the number of participants and the 1st place prize will be less than last year . Just a feeling, nothing more to back this up .

It's quite a difficult question, which can only be guessed by guesswork! Personally, I think that the number of poker players is slowly but surely increasing, because we can meet the best players and videos of final tables on more and more media platforms, so I think that the popularity of poker is attracting more and more people. So this year I think I'm betting 13,000 entries / $125 million in prizes! ;)
