I have played a few times at my local casino's and I know that people are allowed to eat at the table, while it has been mentioned, with a small table/ stool behind them where the food should be placed. No actual things other than chips/ money or cards on the table, seems good. I personally would not eat while playing, I think either a) my food would go cold or b) I would lose concentration on the game, I could turn to eat some chips and someone at the table might eat mine

No please no eating at a poker table. Drinking is ok, but it is horrible to wait for a player eating and losing some small pieces of bread on the table :)

Like other members said, I also think eating at the poker tables shouldn't be allowed... I mean, some people have pretty bad eating habits and I've experienced people dirtying the cards/ chips because of it and this can be easily avoided: just take a short break away from the table and eat... also, by allowing eating at the tables you might have to deal with some uncomfortable situations too, so (IMO) just don't allow it!

GLGL all at the tables and have a great Sunday :)

Not at all, we should have breaks scheduled for that, drinking is OK as long as you dont spill it

Should poker players be allowed to eat at the table? Explain your answer. If yes, can it be any kind of food or only specific foods?

In my opinion this should be disallowed by authoritys. Its not hygenic and its unfriendly to your opponents, Theres pauses for a reason, you have plenty of time to have something to eat.

Eating at a poker gaming table is not entirely aesthetically pleasing. Also, the sound during eating may not be pleasant to everyone. Food can emit an unpleasant smell that will confuse other players. Crumbs from food on the table. Chips and cards are greasy from food. You need to eat food either before the game or after.

you can eat at the poker table you will also have a table behind you and you can put food there and only eat water and drinks there. You are also allowed to lie behind you on the side so that there is nothing at the poker table sometimes the session is very long, especially live so I think who played for a very long time will understand it carefully and aesthetically so as not to disturb other players and look like a normal person

I don’t think it should be allowed. The purpose of the poker table is none other than for playing the game.

Well, I'll be honest with you. Yes, I'm in support of this idea. Now I'll tell you why. I learned to play poker when I was in my 1st year at university. And I went to poker club in my city to play after the school day at university. I had to be on time for the freebuy, which started every day at exactly 4:00 pm. And my teaching day was usually until 3:00 pm. And I just didn't have time to eat lunch. That's why I always bought a sandwich and a 0.5 liter glass of light beer at the poker club. And I basically had lunch at the poker table almost every day. That's my life story. :);)

I think based on having seen people eat at the poker table I would have to vote no,..... we are there to play poker not eat or mark cards or make chips sticky... honestly I've seen toddlers with better table manners than some poker players, and there are days I don't wanna eat with them either but they live here lol😱👍

It's not cool to eat at the poker table, that's why there are breaks. If there is no break, then you can eat at a small table next to you.

I have no problem with people eating at the poker tables, unless they impact the game. I mean if when their turn is up and he is taking his/her time to eat first and then look at the cards and make a decision that in my opinion is time wasting. You can eat where you are not in a hand.

I know that all the tournaments have diner breaks and breaks between the levels but you can not force everyone to eat at the same time.....take me for example I have a strict schedule with eating hours that are way different then most of the people...so for example I have lunch between 3 pm and 3:30 pm and diner for me is at 21:30 pm

So I guess I'm ok with people eating at the tables as long as it does not impact the curse of the game.

No. I think there should be breaks for eating, going on toilet and for rest.

Eating at the poker table: should it be allowed, or not? - a very good Question!

In my Opinion eating at poker table should be not allowed because a poker table has to be a clean area! I would say also snacks like nuts/chips which are high in fat make cards very dirty and if i organize a home game i would make table rules like no food during action@ table.
During tournaments there are breaks with enough time where players can eat and wash their hands ;-)!

It is also a thing that has to do with being prepared for a poker game, if one player @table has a problem because of high or too low room temperature or with his chair it will be his personal problem and he/she has to solve it by himself/herself.
There will be no discussion for a break, this player can sit out and go for a break but others will play on thats poker life.

I would allow it but only specific food and if you have table by the side of poker table.

yes:
-gums and candies
-candy bars and cereal bars

no no:
-finger food (chips, popcorns)
-hamburgers, pizzas
-restaurant menus

I think that eating at the poker table should not be allowed, but if it were allowed, it should be something controllable and moderate, such as packaged foods and small portions, such as cookies, packaged juices, snacks... since a poker tournament takes hours to be completed, I think it is feasible to allow these small amounts of food.

Good day.
Answering the question of the topic, it is necessary to take into account the time you expect to spend at the poker table and the type of game.

In my opinion, if we are talking about cash games, then there is no point in this, because you can get up from the table at any time, and therefore you can have a snack outside the table and during the game you may only need water (or other drink).

If we are talking about multi-hour tournaments, then, in my opinion, a small snack is acceptable.
I'm not talking about some kind of full-fledged food. I mean, for example, a bar of chocolate.

Despite the fact that there are breaks in tournaments, there are a number of reasons why you may need a small snack. The main reason may be health-related reasons. In this regard, I do not think that anyone can be offended if you eat, for example, a slice of chocolate to increase blood sugar levels.

All that is needed, in my opinion, is to make sure that your snack does not cause inconvenience to others: no crunchy, rustling and noisy products.
A small container in which you put a pre-unpacked and divided into small pieces of a chocolate bar, so that you can easily open the container and put this piece in your mouth. it can also be other food, pre-prepared in such a way, perhaps a fruit (for example, a banana, pre-peeled, divided into pieces and poured with lemon, so that it looks attractive without losing color😅).
And of course a napkin that will help you keep your hands clean.

For a thorough snack, of course, there is a break.

I think that in this case, the solution is in the middle. If anyone wants to eat at the table, he should be allowed to eat, if he is polite with this action. This means that the player who eats, must not scatter his foods around him, or to the other players or the table, or on the cards and generally he must have a decent picture and condition. But most of the players they adhere to these and usually they don't cause problems. So it is ok to eat something when you play and to accompany the game with food!

No, this shouldn't be allowed. The food may have an unpleasant smell which can create discomfort for other players.

I think it’s a bad idea to sit and eat at the table, it’s a different matter if the poker is online

Yes, I dont have a problem with it. As long as the food is kept away from the table, the cards are kept clean and eating manners are acceptable. If someone is chopping on a burger, fingers covered in sauce or spitting bits accross the table, then they should be asked to sit out and finish the meal elsewhere.

HI. I think if is a small meal if does in respectful way I thing is appropriate but if someone try to eat some a big meal I think that should be uncomfortable for the opponents.

A lot of people posting in this thread have not played many live poker tournaments. :)

I hate to eat at a poker table - but have done it when desperate. Many tournaments do not have dinner breaks - and some that do have breaks so short you do not have time to get food and eat. In those cases you either eat at the table or starve. For that reason I never get upset when anyone eats at the table.

However - I do wish players would consider the smell of the food they are eating. I hate when people eat salads close to me - the smell of the dressing makes me sick. The smell of fish and really spicy foods is also very unpleasant. That is the only thing that bothers me - well, unless someone is a loud sloppy eater but that would be extremely rare.

You should be allowed to eat but only with a fork or a spoon and you have to eat without creating a mess. Also no food with a strong smell, so maybe something like a salad or fries or so. It's a good question but no food at all at the table would be too hard.
