Dealer messed up the all-in, turning it into a dead hand. Mistakes that cannot be corrected.

In my opinion she made a serious mistake, not putting a protector or a chip on top of her cards, the dealer thought she had abandoned, I don't blame him.

I don't play live, is it important or necessary to use a card protector?
To me her cards were not positioned as if she had folded.

Damn!
I've never played live. But I'm thinking about trying it soon. It is important to be aware of these things.

Since the judge did look at her mucked cards, if he saw aces why did he not give her the cards back

Well, the person made a mistake, it happens to everyone, it’s the human factor, let the Japanese develop a robot dealer, then there won’t be any mistakes.

The dealer moved her cards underneath the other cards. The floor manager took the top 2 cards, so they weren't the correct ones.

Weird situation, the responsibility is on the player to "protect" their cards but at the same time the dealer seriously messed up in this situation.

I tend to keep one hand sheltering my cards when I play live, but there are obvious times where I wouldn't be doing this, the other thing I would look as is where are the cards in relation to the chips, which in this case the chips are in front of the cards implying she's in the hand and her cards aren't that far away from the rail.

I think this spot is so widely viewed because it could happen to anyone, short of having a card protector which is optional and having her hand over her cards for literally the ENTIRE time she's in a hand she didn't do anything wrong. Just a really lame and unfortunate situation for her and the dealer.

If she really had pocket rockets, then she expected the stack to double. The chips were pushed forward to the center of the table. The dealer was lucky that there was no aggressive player in her place.

I saw this eas kind of harsh on her but if you're in the hand you should protect your cards and whilst we're at it, when you look at your cards you should make sure others can't see - loose looks are your fault too lol

One of the 1st things I tell any player is to protect there cards. Its the players responsibility. I always keep a finger on the cards when I go all in as this is something that would be devastating to our game to have happen.

Any time we are in the seat especially next to the dealer we must be very careful and aware as its easy for them to grab the cards in error. Sadly I have seen the dealers do this to players and once to me as well.

Robots/machines would deal cards better than humans, but you would still need someone to check if the blinds and antes were posted

They actually have machine that would do that and would use virtual chips. I would be like playing online but at a table with people playing you.

I've never played live, but I watch a lot of tournaments on YouTube, and players usually protect their cards by placing a chip on top, or using a personal protector, to avoid problems like this.

Humans are not robots, everyone can make mistakes. The player pays for the mistake, but is the dealer punished?

Look at where her chips are. Dealer wasn't paying attention.

Yes, chips in front of the cards are considered live cards all in. However, the rule is to take care of your own cards, as mistakes can happen. In my opinion, it's a double fault. But whether they are aces or not doesn't matter anymore; we shouldn't believe what players say, only the facts.

The floor looking at the mucked cards is just a courtesy. The rule is clear in stating that cards touching the muck are dead. End of story.
