I don't think poker is hard or difficult to learn. It's certainly a lot cheaper then 15-20+ years ago. Takes very little time and study to learn preflop charts. Learn the small bit of poker math and read a good strategy book. It's hard to be a winning player because that takes patience, bankroll management, discipline and mental toughness/tilt control. <----Those are hardest parts of being a winning player.

MTT tournaments are very difficult due to the fact that one plays against 8 other players at a time. You also have to go through multiple levels. Also the game is difficult psychologically as you often go in good and suffer a bad or multiple bad beats, that is hard to adjust to on a daily basis if you play often.
