wow
I don't like these kind of games that the lower hand win
I don't know why, I think it's much harder to read which low cards people have and the way they play
=(
I hate razz
lol

I had no clue that the game Badugi existed. I'm also signed up for a Badugi freeroll starting shortly. I hope I can figure it out fairly quickly... If not... Nothing to lose but twenty minutes.

As 2h 3c 5d would win and it is the nuts. It's kinda like razz but no up cards.

If no one gets badugi then the first 3 lowest cards win

Correct, but just to be sure people understand, it's the 3 lowest card of different suits.

so ......it's like a triple draw razz? with only 4 cards? and it's not good to have more than one of the same suit?

which hand would win.....As 2h 3c 5d
ac 2d 3h 4h

Just to make it clear, the 2nd hand would be beaten by any Badugi, meaning TJQK wins if it's the complete rainbow. Here's another example, mainly for bigunclefrank:

:js4: :10c4: :kd4: :kh4:

:ad4: :3d4: :2d4: :5c4:

1st hand wins, you have a 3 card Badugi, albeit to the K
2ns hand, you have a 2 card Badugi, Ad5c. The highest card(s) of the same suit are essentially thrown away. A 3-card Badugi beats a 2-card.

Have to disagree with Bayley. Most Badugi games are usually played pot limit. If that's the case, and you raise preflop, by the 2nd draw, it can become essentially no-limit. Most people's exposure to Badugi has been freerolls, where you're always gonna get a lot of people playing wild, no matter what the game. You have to make adjustments in your normal game early on, but often that is where there's a ton of $ to be made. Some don't even know the rules, and others are just bad players - for instance... call or raise with a bad draw (drawing 1 card 3x to a Q-high Badugi)

I played in the freeroll and it took me one hand to lose. At least it only cost me a minute.

Amen!!! You want Poker Bingo? This is the game.

Only if you play like a bingo player with the rest of the lottery/bingo crew. What makes Badugi any different than the PL and NL Omaha H/L games? Same advice here as with playing the NLHE maniacs in the first rounds of a tourney. No hand? No play!

Understand what the game is about. Just like Omaha, Razz, Stud, 5 Card Draw and other games requiring skill and knowledge of the game in order to win. No, it isn't nlhe where you have odds that pocket Aces have xx% of winning an all-in preflop. It's a drawing game just like Omaha and the same 'drawing' principles apply.

Early round players in Badugi are NO different than early players in ANY other online game - luckboxes betting and praying. Some get lucky, most do not.

Learn the game, learn the strategy, then play according to Badugi rules, not comparing it to nlhe. It isn't!

Maybe not 'ALL' sites, but I think it will gain in popularity.

Poker, in many resources, defines 'poker' as any variety of card game where players bet that they have a 'winning' hand.

Card games like blackjack, baccarat, PaiGow (for instance) are not generally considered 'poker' since you are playing against the house. 3-Card Poker offered in many casinos use the word 'poker' for marketing the game, but you are still playing against the house.

It seems like a ton of fun tho, can't wait till fulltilt has badugi tables too.
