I think aggressive players tend to have a better chance of winning or going deep in the tournament as they will either be eliminated early or put themselves into positions to have big stacks by the time the money bubble is creeping up.
For me passive play means you really need to be fortunate to win a big hand, as the passive player needs to have the nuts or very close to it, while another player needs to believe they have something good enough to beat the passive player who will be perceived as tight. So they will be put on a narrow range of hands.
That being said, if you are too aggressive in the wrongs spots, you will likely lose your stack.

Think a good mix of being aggressive at the right times is the best approach not just with rags

You need both gears to win consistently...aggro tends to work in the esrly stages...passive aggressive moreso in the latter stages where people play more select hands...

Mid 2 stillus counts in poker. You just have to be able to use it well at the given time and against certain players

Poker is an aggressive game, you gotta avoid being passive as much as possible.

To play aggressive you need to be a very experienced player. With patience and a little bit of luck one can do really well in poker. I can take advantage of most aggressive players with patience. However there is always that experienced player who seems to play most everything, but either folds when you have great hand or has you beat when calling. If your not a seasoned vet i would recommend playing passive until you get down to FT or when having a large chip stack or very small chip stack.

Good question, in general? or cash tables/tourneys . In tournaments (non freeroll) I try to be balanced . See what hands players had before and x3 bet on players that play tight or have enough chips to fold a low range hand. On a calling station I never bet...

On cash games it depend for me what hand I get dealed...I don't like to bluff, I'f I don't hit anything, ...so yes I play very tight.

If you are a passive player you are a loser, you have to be aggressive to succeed or even break even in poker.

There is no rule that always works. The best thing to do is to adapt. But if you have to choose, be aggressive in late positions and passive in early positions. Of course, considering the quality of your hands. The best play most of the time is to fold pre-flop.

Agression can be annoying unless i can exploit it and passive is annoying when i have AA on BB and everyone folds

What do you think of the gameplay of someone who is passive or aggressive in poker?? What are the benefits? And harm? I would like to learn more and verify the views of older players to improve my poker knowledge.
Both styles have the advantages. who is passive, be careful, because she/he plays generally only strong hands. Who is aggresive, you can be sure he/she does not have alwals strong hands. so if you have (for example preflop) you can do all in and and if your opponent has really weak hands, you can easily steal his/her chips.:) THe only danger is BAD BEAT, but it belongs to poker. I am variable at the tournaments, to avoid getting to know my strategy.:)

I like to vary, I feel that if I am very aggressive that can make me lose chips more quickly, but if I am passive I can let the opponent nail something, that's why I like to vary

Many factors have been mentioned that determine if one should play passive or aggressive poker, and they all apply. Stakes are also a factor...it is easy to be aggressive in a freeroll or very low stakes because the downside is minimal. Playing $2 - 5 will teach you more about style of play.
