Hi I want to learn poker so that I can earn an income from it!My parents divorced and I have no one to support me.My mother's aunt died and I'm doing this for the money!
Is it illegal? What would happen if you take money from others?
I'm good at math but I don't know how to begin. Can someone guide me?

You will have to look up legislation in your country.

What would happen if you take money from others?
Borrowing money from others is generally a bad idea. It's nearly impossible to bring your A game when in the back of your head you think about what you need to pay back

Try the 30day pokercourse from Cardschat, that will help you a great deal :)

Start with the link above to this forums course. Finish the course.

Then checkout the two links below. Both have an decent amount of free content. When done with those just Google search the internet for free info/knowledge. There's plenty of good free info out there. Get a HUD and not because you need one to beat micro stakes but because there very helpful and about the only way to study and do hand reviews and a HUD will keep track of how much you win and lose. Even if the site you play at doesn't allow HUDs get one anyways but never run it while playing. When done playing close the poker site and then start the HUD amd download your hands into it. Link to the HUD I prefer below as well. Best of luck.

Cheers!!!

Alas there is no quick fix. Study, play, study etc. If you put in the hours and you have talent you might - and this is a big might - break even after a year. And if you are sharp you perhaps will make some small profit in two years. Going pro? Play at least 4-5 years and that craves a natural born talent and a bankroll of say $40.000. Otherwise, forget it. 10% are winning players. Less than 1% are pros. Much less.

In fact, there is nothing complicated in quickly learning to play poker from scratch and independently. All that is needed is a good source with structured information, where you can get all the necessary knowledge. Most of the books are no longer relevant, as poker has made several leaps and bounds in its development.

True. However, there are a bundle of books that implement GTO and canvasses modern poker. Yes, poker can be learned quickly. But to go pro takes years, and there is no certainty to make the cut. There is rather 99% chance you Don’t achieve the goal as the Romanian OP thrives for. But yes it is possible.

Why should you resort to violence. Poker is not World of Warcraft

If you are just starting out in poker then it's very very hard to make a living out of it.
For your livelihood you are better off to find a job, any job really.

For the question of violence - well, if you play online then how could anyone attack you? If you play live then I would choose carefully where to play. Avoid any shady games.

But we can't possibly know what's it like in where you live. You know best.

Well, OP is from Romania which is the second poorest country in Europa. A doctor in Romania earns less than a janitor in Scandinavia. Sad but true.
Best of luck to OP in his pursuit of greener and more prosperous pastures.

If you want to learn poker, you must first study something about poker and then play for a long time.

Stealing? If you think you Don’t work when playing poker you are dead wrong. Poker is hard work. You do not take money from others. You win. That is if are a winning player. The likes of Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey have won tens of millions. They are not jailbirds😊

Actually it's considered a good thing in poker to 'steal the blinds'. You'll find it is much easier because they can't even see you doing it to them.
Especially in tournament, STEAL THE BLINDS! (the more times you can steal from the blinds the better it is!).

Stealing the blinds in cash games is also a common prerogative. It’s on the top five of tools of the trade. So is stealing the pot
postflop. Otherwise stealing in poker is three strikes and we throw away the key👺

IMG 3548This is all you need to do the math. Do notice that math is not the most important aspect of poker. You Don’t need much knowledge of math in poker. Math is the easy part of poker

@Jean-Guy

If I have a low income from 200-500 euros can I play at 25nl? If not at what levels can I play in poker? In Romania salaries are very low and you can't reach 600-1000 euros without relationships!
