Yes, read about it this morning.

This should go to prove what many have been saying about the UIGEA not blocking withdrawals or somehow making withdrawals illegal for players. It was intended to stop the funding of online gaming accounts. When withdrawals did get blocked, it was because the same payment processors used for withdrawals were also used to handle deposits.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney PREET BHARARA said: "... No individual player accounts were ever frozen or restrained, and each implicated poker company has at all times been free to reimburse any player's deposited funds. In fact, this Office expects the companies to return the money that U.S. players entrusted to them, and we will work with the poker companies to facilitate the return of funds to players, as today’s agreements with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker demonstrate.
...
The agreements allow for PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to use the pokerstars.com and fulltiltpoker.com domain names to facilitate the withdrawal of U.S. players’ funds held in account with the companies. The
deposit of funds by U.S. players is expressly prohibited."
This also might provide an explanation of how other sites/networks have avoided much attention from the DOJ, aside from the low volume compared to PS/FT, and how they're remaining confident that their players' balances won't be affected. If they're smart, they setup separate deposit and withdrawal processors. That way if a deposit processor gets nabbed, it doesn't affect withdrawals, which would save them a ton of headache and cost, not to mention bad P.R., with getting players their money.

Yeah, always a chance imo since others have been removed and then readded later. No chance of it happening outside of the normal new loyaler process though.

It'll be pretty sweet if we can use our FTP points on tournament tickets, convert to cash, and cash out. I have 25K of unused points doing me nothing.

You can (or could) cash out T$ at a discounted rate, though.

Yeah but he's specifically talking cashing in FTP's for tourney tickets and converting them, which you can't do.

Well maybe. The pop up we US players get says to contact FTP about unused T$ AND tourney tickets. Afaik no one has successfully done it yet but there is some chance that it's possible for US folks.

Update:

I am in canada. I cannot play cash games on pokerstars and I cannot transfer funds. The Country of Origin when you create the account probably dictates that and there is no option to change that. I'm sure you have to contact support and show proof of new residency before they would do that.

Yeah, not surprised. The good news is that you'll be able to cash out (if not now soon).

I hope I can also transfer. I requested a Cashout on 4/15 and it is still listed as pending with an option to cancel. Another Red Flag??

Well they just opened back up for withdrawal today so I don't know if your pending transfer will go through 1st or you'll have to cancel it and request everything again.

I'd give it a day or so to hear what others are experiencing first.
