IMG 3586Eight days a week I prefer the MANIAC,
The maniac changes the table dynamic, but we all know the result. The maniac busts time after time. To combat the maniac you will of course widen your range. Do what the maniac hates: 3-Bet him with no mercy. Goes without saying that there will be high voltage of volatility. Even the Maniac gets good cards. When the maniac gets a taste of his own medicine and loses with strong holecards like KK, he creates a Big Bang. Bang bang, you’re dead..
The Maniac’s favourite band is Nickelback.

The maniac of course. Easiest player to get money from. They literally give it away most hands. The only thing one has to do is stay patient, don't be a rude jackass making him leave/table change with his money and be properly bankrolled for the stakes being played. Winning at poker doesn't get easier then that.

Cheers!!!

A rock - a.k.a. Nit - is an unorthodox choice of a player you want at the table. Nits won’t win, but they won’t lose much either. Perhaps they will break even at the baby stakes since most players have tunnel visions. At NL500 and beyond there will be zero rocks.

Maniacs are my favorite opponents. Thanks to these players, I made a decent profit for years. For me, these are always the most desirable players at my table.

I would also like to add passive players, I once had this guy at my table who had no aggression to his game, he would often raise pre to just x/f the flop instead of taking the initiative, I took his chips most of the time I happened to play a HU with him. 9 out of 10 times he would x/f leaving me to bet with air majority of the time, there was only one time he x/c I think he had bottom/middle pair.

To my despair I never saw him again 😭 😭 😭

Maniacs beat Nits, Nits beat Stations, Stations beat Maniacs.
I choose to be a Fake-Maniac.

For me it's any kind of "predictable" player.

Be it maniac, be it the "never bluff" Player, be it the calling station.

If I have a decent chance to read him, I can exploit him. 🤓😎

Labels...all of em, i prefer to be a hybrid and adjust to the game and never to the player, at the end of the day most hands play themselves in certain situations thats why you will continue to see 22 or 33 outflop AA and many other type hands just out draw..

Love being labelled a certain way, it makes the win even sweeter when it comes (and it will).

Agree! You wil always adapt to the topographic ocean that constitutes a table. This means that you sometimes must stray from your baseline to maximize opportunites at any given time.

I prefer to play with 2 types of players, those who bluff a lot and in a way that demonstrates this and the limpers, these two types of players earn me a lot of chips.

I prefer to play against nits, as they rarely take risks and pay on turn and river. Maniacs beat me very often on small stacks (7-10 big blinds), even though I'm almost always stronger on pre-flop. But my luck refuses to help me in the game against them. :(

Loose passives. Calling with the worst of it then telegraphing when they make a big hand with a check raise(y)

I have to admit, maniacs make the game much more exciting! They’re unpredictable, and while their volatility can be frustrating, it also creates opportunities for solid players to capitalize. I like facing maniacs because they force you to adapt and sharpen your strategy—tightening up when they’re steamrolling the table and widening your range to punish their reckless bluffs.

That said, my favorite type of player to face is the "Calling Station." They’re predictable, rarely fold, and make it easy to value bet relentlessly. While the maniac may cause chaos, the calling station is like an ATM for disciplined players.

I prefer to play against maniacs who bluff everything and I prefer to play a tighter range against these weak players, limpers are also very easy to play against, the passivity of these players is very good for accumulating more chips.
