In our online and offline world, you will likely have discovered that Artificial Intelligence is everywhere!
So, how do you think artificial intelligence will impact the future of poker? Or has it already impacted poker?
Please share your thoughts!
Let's start with AI as we know it today in language models: it can be really helpful with sifting through a lot of information and summarizing it, or otherwise organizing data in a way that's more digestible to its users. That's great for humans that are wanting to learn about poker but perhaps don't absorb information as well in one format versus another. AI can help arrange information in ways that are easier to absorb. For example, AI has recently been featured in generating podcasts that are easy to listen to (and pretty funny sometimes depending on the topic).
Future AI, which would go beyond language models and feature autonomous reasoning, would likely lead to more opportunities for online
poker sites to put AI players vs. human players, particularly in formats that aren't winnable over the long run, where the house is the big winner through rake. If AI can simulate human play, then there would not really be any detectable difference between human vs. human and AI vs. human play (or AI vs. AI). Rake and fees are still paid and the
poker site pockets the money.
Maybe live poker will still be safe, as long as we can somehow avoid brain implants and AI controlled vibrating beads/plugs?
