For years I played poker without thinking about money, just for fun, I still play with grandsons, granddaughters, nephews, for fun, for me what counts is the emotion of the game, like board games, the pleasure of playing and sometimes winning

Poker is amazing, the money makes it even more attractive, before I played for hours without financial involvement, I really enjoy playing.

And that's exactly what I'm talking about. Poker is a great game that gives me a lot of fun, and being able to make money playing the game makes it even more fun

Then what do you think about the game of chess? Most people do not play this game for money, but simply to improve their skills and enjoy it. The same cannot be said about poker?
Interesting your point, I think poker wouldn't be the same without the money. however, the learnings that derive from it continue.

and I do Poker stake threads for the same reason
to make money? **** no ..sir..

I am one twisted poker connoisseur

I want to display Heads

If you are prideful and enjoy strategic arrogance after your win
You can't any get better

I cannot explain what it feels like for me to win

Winning means I get to keep head hunting
I promise You

You have never seen an angrier unsatisfied winner

no accolades needed
What praise? that's... not you :ROFLMAO:
you're not better than me man, and you never will be:cool:

On the one hand, you are also right, poker would not have developed as it did if it were not for money, and I agree with you. But at first this game was played just for fun like all similar games. This is a historical fact

The game is the most interesting I've played to date, however I've been trying to imagine what it would be like if there was no money involved in its nature, but I say that as if it was created without the money involved, as if we didn't know it in this format with cash prizes. would it be so interesting? I think that money is a component of poker, and without it a lot of factors would change, and it would lose some of its meaning.
When I started out, I played at play money tables, but people don't take it seriously and play crazy. If only it was as easy to win real money as it was to win play money.

I've always seen poker as a game of passion, it's compared to playing chess, so yes... if I'll keep playing it doesn't matter if it's free or just for fun. I love playing poker. live or online

I don't know, I have my doubts, time is money, I wouldn't waste time playing if it weren't for money.

I think poker and money go hand in hand. That is why it is the number one card game in the world. So if it wasn't for money it wouldn't be so attractive.

Yes, I think poker is a great game. I've been playing play poker for a very long time, and I loved it. Money can give more drive to the game, and the trip is different.

Poker can not exist without the risk reward. All decisions are based on the chance to gain something or loose something. Without that, every hand would be all-in. Even with Risk/Reward, if the risk is so low that it does not matter we are back to All-in again. If someone goes all-in with their last 4 chips, you will call because there is very little risk. My home games suck because antes are only 5/10 cents, so everyone calls with nothing and impossible to bluff. SO luck plays a key role not skill.

so you say that risk is the determining factor to distinguish who has skill. Poker skill is distinguished by risk taking.
I ask you, in your bets of 5/10 cents at home, have you never tried to adapt a new effective strategy? for example if you raise 3X and are called by 4 players. Have you tried to open raise 6X?
Have you tried going allin a few times in a row? and then see the reaction to the same raise you were called frequently?

Think when you play with the family at home with a chip set. However, this game can be enjoyed quite well even without money.
Obviously, those who have played for money once associate the game with profit, but I think there are cases when this game can be enjoyable even without real money.

The first time I played was in 2015 and then it was for play money. There I learned to everything combinations and other things. Then I didn’t really know that it was possible to play for real money, but it was very interesting for me to play

This question i asked myself every now and then years ago. And if answer was those days hard to give, that is not the case now. :p

"100 rounds heds-up, me vs you, if i lose, i come and do the thing for you" There is a stake of some kind, which i do prefer, but yes, i play cards without money stakes nowdays.

People will always find something to bet with whether it's money or lunch or drinks or their daughter or whatever. My wife and I bet on favors when we play, like foot-rubs and back-rubs etc. In this day and age, I'm not surprised that public humiliation isn't on the menu of wagers, lol.

I voted: No.
Because even if I love this game passionate, it takes a lot of time to reach certain points in pieces and in the whole as well. Moreover, if I sit down to play poker, I'd never know when I will be able to do other activities again, so I always have to calculate with the longest occassions, and these can change so fast. Money just compensating what poker can take away from everyday's life, and gives you extra motivation to isolate yourself a bit, and do these fun but sometimes cruel circles over and over. :)
