I have been playing around 25+ years, First started playing for fun money and Free-rolls on Pokerstars and still with them, I drifted away and tried other sites, and made a few dollars along the way but there is something about Pokerstars that keeps me coming back.
I played on Fulltilt but never really got off the ground and
party poker but the site I really played a lot on was PKR.com I enjoyed the fact your could change the mood of your Avatar and change the Camera angle so you could look directly towards the other players, as if you were trying to get a read on them. It was a lot of fun and really cool. I started by playing in the 10 cent give-away's which were played every hour and soon won the maximum $2 then started playing 10 cent buy-ins and amazingly soon built up a sizable
bankroll.
I Finally got to about $150 and then was recommended another site that although was not as much fun, but ran a $25.00 free-roll every night and there were only 30 to 40 players every night so prize money was good and they only took a couple of hours to play.
I soon ran up another $150+ bank-roll on that site, all from free-rolls. I then started playing Live games in the Local Pubs in my town and got into serious Poker there and had a lot of fun winning small amounts but that is how I like it.
The winning is more important than the money.
I played a lot of League Poker and although the buy-ins were small amounts, we had a lot of people who all played for a chance to play in a Regional Final every 13 weeks for free, for a chance to win a trip to Vegas
It was run by Grosvenor Casino's group here in the U.K. and I have played in quite a few over the last 10 years, Making 2nd place in one Regional Final and qualifying for the Nationals. So as they say "Great Oaks from tiny Acorns Grow" you can win big from Free-rolls.
When the fun Stops, STOP!
