Think about when you first came to CardsChat and what your poker skills looked like then. Have your skills improved since joining? If yes, how do you gauge that progress? Are you playing higher stakes/buy-ins? More wins under your belt? Or maybe just lasting longer in games and tournaments?

If not, what do you think would help you to improve?

I'm a member of CC from 2009 but I wasn't involved here at all up until year and a half. Then when I joined I joined purely to be able to play in freerolls that were organized at Full Tilt.

My poker skills then? Uhhhh, I wouldn't call them skills at all. :)

I remember that I've won tournament entry in some Omaha freeroll (it was a freeroll with a really small number of players, maybe 6 or 8, I don't remember) and when I unregistered from that tournament I had 246$ in my account. And I've won it by not knowing the rules of Omaha. Not, not knowing the odds. I didn't know the rules! Back then I was playing mostly NLHE and freerolls.

Anyway, back then I didn't had much patience and getting involved in too many hands.

Did my skills improved since joining? I would say yes in terms of patience, aggressiveness and value betting/raising in the right spots. However, I didn't went level up in terms of higher stakes but I have found which games I like the most, such as Badugi and 5 card draw for which I have to thank to this community.

Hi :)
I am sure that without the community, I would not have achieved the results and benefits that I have had the opportunity to receive over the past few years. I definitely got better thanks to the community, thanks to the great daily freerolls that allowed me to gain valuable experience and improve my skills.

I've only been here for a year and a half and yes, I can definitely say that my game is improving. I manage to last longer in tournaments, slowly but surely I manage to adapt. I am grateful because I can participate in the league games, which helps me to be more responsible. I have no winnings in cash games, I'm still a recreational player.
Thanks CC!.

Hello Poker Fans,

It is my pleasure to publically thank CardsChat for the opportunity to become the poker player that I am today. Before CardsChat, I had a playing knowledge but lacked a solid community to learn advanced tactics and provide the support as well as the motivation to endure the emotionally stressful learning curve. Even though I was a member of pokerstars Poker School, which eventually died out, it was not as fun and engaging as CardsChat. Here, you have tons more to do and can easily be engaged daily.

Although I am still on my journey to becoming a better poker player, this community creates the environment to nurture not just one's skill but their mindset, which is in my opinion the difference between continuing to play poker or going broke by developing unhealthy habits. The site also has great tools to help capture great moments and really analyze your play. The poker odds calculator has really opened my eyes and helped me adjust my play based on sound mathematical statistics.

The main thing that helped my poker journey, was the opportunity to play freerolls and build a bankroll while receiving great advice, especially from the 30 Day Poker School. Not only do you get a chance to play, but also learn a great deal from the talented players who unknowingly teach a lot from the tactics used to win their opponent's chips. I have gained an appreciation for not just my success, but also that of an entire team, through all the League, Pairs matches and the like. I can also boast of being able to play several variations of poker thanks to the Variants League.

In short, before CardsChat, I would make very little (a one time USD$50 at most), play games that I "cannot" afford, go on tilt and rage quit for a few weeks or months then return to repeat the vicious cycle all over again with no real goal and direction to keep me motivated and focussed. Post CardsChat, the tilt almost does not exist, I have no desire to quit the game - instead reflect on my line of play and aspire to improve, I set goals with monthly reviews and have been able to make a withdrawal of USD$695.67 so far.

My future in poker looks bright, thanks to CardsChart, and I have renewed hopes of participating in a major live event in the future. As a matter of fact, I did win a Power Path Silver Pass worth $2500 in prizes but opted to put a live event on hold and take the $2500 in online tickets. My goal to win more than the $2500 was crushed but I learned so much from the experience.

I look forward to contributing more to the Community over time and being a CC representative someday by joining the live poker fun. CardsChat has made all the difference not just acquiring but also nurturing my poker skills!

CardsChat has been very helpful to me. I have developed much more strategic thinking and understanding of the poker game. I play more aggressively, utilize positions and have enjoyed some financial success from the CardsChat games that allowed me to play higher and win even more. I am thankful for CardsChat and the community.

I have to say thanks to CC because i really improved my skills and poker knowledge since the last 2 years, i registered in 2020 during the corona pandemie ;-)!
Nowadays the cc community motivates me every week to search for interesting topics round about poker like a strategy thread or hand reviews - there is always something new to learn or refresh your basics.
I wouldnt say that i play higher stakes before i take part of CC but i would say i select better which and what time i will register for a tournament.
Playing and studying with a community is much more interesting than alone in the dark of online poker ;-).

Oh Mama.....You completely made me the poker player I am today CC. Period. No exceptions.

I joined up with the influx of people you all got when our covid lockdown started. I love card games and hold 'em just seemed the perfect game. <3 I literally had the list of winning hands up as I was playing for the first little bit...in case some of you did not notice how new I was :p

I did most of the school here and it was extremely beneficial BUT I got the essential part of my learning on the virtual felts with everyone in the Platinum Games. My brain works better with trial and error over studying and you get the best of both worlds here.

Day after day for three years, I was playing with you all, taking notes, and studying all your moves. Then I finally started to understand poker to get competitive <3 I am still learning every day but more at fine-tuning my game now.

TEAM league is where you can take your skills to the next level <3 Seriously give it a shot if you want to know what it is like to swim with the sharks <3

BUT I can make it in tourneys now and I do pretty well for financing my fun <3 Thanks to CC :) and her community, I am 100% who I am in poker because of you all <3 <3 Love you long time! Mwah!

CardsChat freerolls allowed me to improve my skills. Most of the players in our freerolls are quite skilled, and by playing with such opponents, I started to improve my skills myself.

What I believe improves when I play in CC is that when I learn a strategy, I can apply it without fear of losing money, and that enhances the evaluation of the strategy to determine whether it is profitable or not.

I can't say for sure whether my poker skills have improved compared to back then.

What is more important to me is that CardsChat has helped me to better understand my game.

Meeting a more or less consistent community every day over a longer period of time is, for me, the greatest benefit and the great thing about CardsChat.

Good thread by the way - i can honestly say that i thought i knew poker well before i joined Cardschat and then i realised there was a lot more to the game and its nuances, my game developed through a combination of things that CC provides by way of its online training courses, podcasts, league competitions to name just a few.
If you add the knowledge gained from the discussions and information that is provided on the specific forum thread(s), Cardschat then takes it to another level, i was able to practice and hone those skills in the league format as well as the various, ample freerolls, its a safe, positive playground to become a more all round player.
Cardschat is unique and after a break of 18 months or so, its great to be back and to keep learning, this game is never beat and we can always improve.

If you think that when I came I used to get blinded out very fast , playing up to 1 blond to shove , waiting for the best card only , if you see how I play now , yes there is an improvement. And CC forum has helped me on it . To understand more how to play with a range of hands , and try to find best ranges at the right positions to play or shove . And freerolls are a good way to practice your skills , see if you are improved or not , if you can play with RNG or not .

CardsChat significantly improved my poker skills by offering access to a vast community of players, educational resources, and strategic discussions. Engaging in forums allowed my to learn from more experienced players, get feedback on my posts, and refine my strategies. The site also provides articles, videos, and quizzes that cover various aspects of poker, from basics to advanced concepts. Consistent participation and learning from diverse perspectives helps me stay updated with trends, improve decision-making, and ultimately elevate my game.

The leaderboard competition helped me a lot. I played more patiently with a focus on getting points. It helped my cashes because I was only aggressive early with premium hands. There have been some very good players I could watch and learn from.

Help me to start to play more mtts than my usual cashgame grind, and learn a lot how to play against begginers in MTTs. Now i don't need to put any money "direct" from me on some mtt or sportsbet, all come from the freerolls, who the grand % of knowledge come from the cc freerolls and their players.

It improved a lot, I have been playing since I was 13 or 15 years old, online for more than 20 years, I earned a few coins and thought I was fine, only once I won a good amount, this amount was very well used, I managed to make a renovation in my house and still had enough for a trip, I played with friends and was afraid to play in poker houses (I went but I didn't get what I wanted), because I lacked confidence, today I have more determination, many earnings, I make a lot of trips with what I earn, both online and live, I learned from my colleagues in the CC freerolls, all thanks to you, I started and did not finish the course, imagine when I finish

Thanks to CC and its freerolls I have better understood what online poker is. My poker skills have definitely improved. There are more victories in tournaments. New strategies have also appeared in my asset which I am successfully using now.

It improved my game 100%, when I came to cardschat I was still learning the rules of poker.
Cardschat opened my eyes to different types of players and made me learn while winning, so I can only thank Cardschat.

I love it here, the folks here give me thier take on how to approach all types of games, helped me see poker in a more advance manner. Recently started "making the money" in tournaments. Happy that we can all grow together

CardsChat has helped to improve my poker skills by providing lots and lots of free games to practice playing and improve my win ratio. They say, "Practice makes perfect." So, I guess I still need a lot more practice, lol.

Well, I’ve been a community member here at CardsChat since early 2015. I was totally green as far as playing poker was concerned but really wanted to learn to become a reasonable to good poker player to give myself a chance playing the games that I did.

It’s remarkable but having read some of the posts already in this thread it’s uncanny how similar my story is to that of Marc. Memories of FT bring a warm feeling but less so that struggles.

Like Marc one of the most influential parts of my CardsChat poker skills development was joining the CardsChat League. Although freerolls, there was (and remains) definitely a style of how to play these games to my own and the teams best advantage.

I also found that playing in the Playinum level freerolls has helped to develop my game and skills as these games aren’t really like the usual freerolls as people tend to take them seriously and the standard of play is so much higher.

Not, totally finally, but the poker course was amazing in my development as a poker player (I really must get round to finishing he last few sessions, so maybe when I get time I will start them all over).

Overall I wouldn’t be the poker player that I am today (albeit haven’t played much recently due to many reasons) but feel privileged to have been assisted in this development by the gat community that is CardsCHat. Thank you.

Damo

Good morning everyone, since I started on Cardschat 4 years ago, I've been playing much more calmly, especially at final tables, I've improved my patience a lot and the freerolls have helped me a lot to build up a bankroll, it's seriously the best poker site, it helps players a lot, especially beginners.
